OMG!! DD9 has not stopped talking in the last 90 minutes!! She is working on a study sheet and she is just talk, talk, talking away! She can't find any of the answers, but has yet to turn the page to look one up! She is asking me the questions, then getting all pissy when I won't give her the answers. She just asked her brother who said no before she even had the question all the way out! LOL
Anyone else out there experiencing the 9 yr old drama tonight?

Not tonite but it happens here too. Girls are chatty. It goes in waves. Some ages they won't hush and some ages they won't talk. Enjoy the talking while it lasts. They grow up so fast. :)

My DDs are in 9th and 4th grades - they are both in chatty stages and I love it. I figure soon enough it won't be "cool" to talk to Mom so much and I'll miss it.

I'll send mine your way...she hasn't shut up in 4 years!!!
My mom could always tell when she was asleep...it was the only time she was quiet!!
It's not just the talking tonight...it's the whining....the "I can't do it"...the "Why won't anyone help me?"...."I'm never going to finish this!"
It has taken her almost 2 hours to do 21 questions!
Now she is looking at me with the scrunched up...."I'm gonna cry" face...but amazingly....no tears ever fall! Hmmmm....wonder how that happens?? :confused3 :rolleyes1

Just another fun night at the KMP house!!

Oh, yeah...feel your pain. DD is sitting across from me as Itype this, doing her homework, which involves lots of chatting. I swear she narrates her every move and her inner monologue is actually an outer one!

Well, my DD is almost 12, and guess what???? She never shuts up! I just think I should enjoy it as long as I can! Someday, she won't even speak to me, I'm sure!

I feel your pain, DD is 8.

I've learned to nod my head a lot and say 'really?' every once in a while. Just like I do with DH. :rotfl2:

You know, DD8 has a terrible problem with ear wax. I have to clean out her ears every single day. I asked DMIL about it because she works for an Ear/Nose/Throat specialist. She said excessive ear wax is from talking so much. SHE WASN'T KIDDING EITHER! :sad2:

Okay... I have a 6yo BOY. He NEVER shuts up. We will be watching a movie, and he HAS to tell us everything that is happening... while we are watching it! Its constant.... Even at school. He only gets in trouble for talking. CONSTANTLY. I think it might be a disorder.

If you ask my DD9's teacher, the answer would be constantly, especially when she's not supposed to. Though she does have periods of quiet time, she seems to have non-stop talking binges as do her friends. So much to say, no filter to know when not to say it.

My 8 year old daughter is in 4th grade and she doesn't shut up. Sometimes when she is talking I am thinking in my head "oh my god will she ever shut up!" but of course I don't say it to her!!!

:lmao: At least I am not alone.

My 9 year old got an A plus in talking on her final report card for 3rd grade, REALLY. Her teacher was a cut-up. She should have gotten hazard pay.;)

Got one of those year as well. My fourth grade 9 year old DD does NOT stop talking ever, day or night.

On the other hand my 12 year old DS is very quiet...

Two opposites. Bedtime is great though :woohoo:

Well that explains that! My 4th grader has excessive ear wax too! :rotfl:

I have a 9yo, 4th gr'-er as well. She can join the "non stop talking" club! That's not what I mind so much, it's the same questions over and over and over. I'll answer it the first time, and 30 seconds later she asks it again, and again, and again..... Even when I give her the answer she "wants" the first time.

It cracks me up that a PP said her DS is quiet....my DS is quiet because he can't get a word in around her!!! He'll start to say something and then she starts in and he just walks away!! I've gotten to the point where I'll put my hand over her mouth and say, "Go ahead son".....usually we're laughing so hard we forget what we had to say anyway!
Of course, what we have to say is NEVER as important as what she has!! NEVER!! :rolleyes1

I teach 3rd & yes it's always noisy. And no, they don't want to look up any answers. For some reason they think that you should tell them the answer to anything that they don't know. Of course, some of it you've just told them, but they were too busy talking to hear you. It's a never ending cycle! ;)

DD even talks in her sleep, so it's nonstop. One morning, I was helping ds get ready in the bathroom when we hear from sleeping dd- NOOOO! I don't want jelly. Only peanut butter!
She's not a fan of jelly...

I feel for you and all teachers (especially my DD's.) :rotfl2: Each one of her teacher's mentioned to me her not listening and constant talking. I told them this is a constant battle we are working on, but we seem to be losing. :sad2:
