I'm assuming it's about $1.00 per washer and the same for each dryer. Is that about right? Just trying to get my quarters packed today. ;)

We stayed at Pop and it was $4 for 1 load (washed & dried)....$2 for the wash and $2 for the dry.

Yikes! Looks like I'll be packing more quarters & maybe even more clothes then. Thanks for the not so great news! ;)

That was the price I remembered also. And the dryers normally have to be done twice if you want everything completely dry. At least at the Poly it's been that way everytime we've tried to do any laundry.

Just wanted to note that if you you have a large capacity washer at home expect the washers at Disney to hold maybe half that amount - typical of a laundromat washing machine- (I think?). You can also hang a few things in the closet to dry on the handful of hangers provided after you run them through the dryer. You might want to be timely about getting your things too. I caught someone trying to take my things out of the dryer, and I was watching the clock so I could go to bed. :(

Ok, ok....looks like I'll be looking over our packing list very carefully and only wash what we'll definitely be wearing again.

Yep! $2 per washer and $2 for 30 minutes of drying time. Watch the temperature settings on the dryers. Most people turn them up to the maximum heat--which may or may not be a good thing! *LOL*

be aware that if you are doing a large load, the dryer takes two cycles to get stuff dry.

Just wanting to remind everyone that before they start complaining about Disney prices to think about the alternatives. And there are some.

The first bag on American right now costs you $15. What is laundry at Disney World (or any other resort) going to cost you?

I think I read somewhere that there is a laundry area on every floor at WL--- I thought from 2003 it was near the pool area
Anyone know for sure?
Jill

I'm also used to the $2 wash & $2 dry. We always had to dry our clothes twice. We've used the laundry at Pop, POR, CSR, ASMovies, ASMusic - they're all just about the same. All were very clean.

The laundry rooms are located by each pool. Enjoy! :laundy:

Last year while staying at the Grand Floridian, I decided to do laundry (we went through clothes much faster than I anticipated). I have no gripes about the washing, but the dryer ate up about 5.00 alone because the clothes wouldn't dry. It wasn't even a big load of laundry. I learned my lesson. We will be packing a lot more clothes this year....

Something I did was to wash a "small" load before bed, bring it back to the room and hang everything or drape over the chairs and then first thing in the morning take it to the dryer. One cycle did the trick. I was the first one up in the morning anyway. I do bring along my own plastic hangers, too.::yes::

We sent ours out for Laundry service at GF and I think it ran around $120.00 for the two of our clothes for a week. We were on a two week vacation, and didn't want to pack for two full weeks. We sent out the laundry in the morning, went to the park, came back and it was all on hangers in the closet. It was so worth it.

I have a travel clothesline that I put up in the bathroom and vanity area, and I hang to dry. I do the laundry in the afternoon break, put the the bathroom fan while I go back to the park, and everything is dry by the next morning. However, I only wash "light" clothing: T-shirts, underwear, shorts, ... I'm not sure it'd as work well with jeans.
