How much does it cost to call US from USVI?

How much would it cost to call home (Texas) from St. Thomas?

It cost me about $30 to make a 2 minute call from Cozumel, Mexico to Northern VA ... I wanted to let my Dad know we were safe ... we'd left Port Canaveral just before Hurricane Frances hit.

Later I realized that it would have been smarter to pay for the internet, which I then did and was able to keep my family updated via emails.

believe it or not.. St Thomas was in my home region for my cell phone, so I was calling everyone one, and it was just my regular minutes...I lucked out.

i would imagine it would be fairly reasonable since St. Thomas is a US territory. They had phones right when you got off the ship to make calls, and I believe the call rates were posted nearby.

We have Verizon cell phone and USVI is included in our long distance service....call home on Christmas was free.

USVI is part of the Cingular Nation plan. DD called everytime she was on St. Thomas and it was just counted against her regular minutes.

I bought prepaid phone cards at the dollar store ($1 for 20 minutes) and they included use in US territories and virgin islands. There are phones right where the ship docks.
