I lost 36 pounds within 2 months by drastically cutting carbs. I've leveled off the last couple months staying the same. That's okay since it came off soooooooooooooo quickly! Plus I'm not exercising like I was. That makes a huge difference. Throw me in the 156-200 category too. I'm 5'8".

I weigh 100 lbs. - and have since I was a teenager..

Bad comments are not directed towards only heavy people.. Some of the "nicer" ones I have received are:

"You look like you belong on a 'Save The Children' poster.."

"Have you been ill long?"

"Did you ever consider getting a job modeling coffins?"

"Better tie a rock to your foot - there's a bit of a breeze outside today.."

"Have you considered seeing a psychiatrist for your 'condition'?"

"Stand sideways so no one can see you.."

And on and on and on............

I don't "do" anything to be this wieght - it's just "normal" for me..

I was over 200 pounds but have lost 50 pounds in the last 6 months. Never had problems on Disney rides.

Normally I'm 120ish. 5'5"

But since Im preggo I'm a little higher than that right now.

5'3" and weigh 123
thats after a 42lb weight loss last yr

Well, I hate to admit it, but I'm 5'1" and weigh 215 lbs. When we were at the parks last year, the only ride that gave me a problem was my husband & I trying to squeeze into the Astro Orbiter Jets! My knees are bad and trying to get into that was ridiculous!! The laps strap wouldn't go around us and I told the CM not to worry there was no way we could have possibly been ejected from that car!!!

I can completely relate, in high school they called me "Anorexic Amy". I'm just a tiny person.

I don't think that it's good to weigh anything that can cause health problems. This goes for over and underweight people.

As far as not fitting into rides at Six Flags...Disney rides aren't too crazy. Six Flags have some intense roller coasters that need to hold riders in their seats. If the seats were designed for someone weighing, say, 250, I would never fit in that seat, it would be dangerous.

There is a rollercoaster manufacturer called Bolliger and Mabillard who usually has one row designated for larger people, with deeper seats and different sized restraints.

at 5'8" I'm at about 150 now. At 21 I was a skinny 118, when I came home from having my 10 1/2 pd son it was 135. Thought I was huge. Then, the pounds just started creeping up, until last fall I was at 165. Then, my mom passes away and I've lost 15 pds. Sure wouldn't suggest my particular diet, but my doctor says it's helped my b/p!! And I do feel better, weight-wise. I guess this is where I'll stick. Interesting thread. Thanks for starting it.

I had to put "somewhere between 100-400, it seems that 131-135 lb. category was left out, I'm 134 - have just lost ~10 lbs. w/ weight watchers:teeth:

I'm 5ft 4 and weigh 138 but I don't care. What does matter to me is that I can swim 5k, or run a half marathon in 2 hours. That makes me feel far better about myself than scales ever can.

I'm 5'2" and normally around 120 pounds. I'm pregnant now, and I'm not telling how much I weigh. ;) I'm very small boned and look best when I'm around 115 pounds, but I have a hard time getting pregnant if I don't have a few extra pounds of fat on me, so I figure that that's what's healthiest for me.

I am with you keswick1uk - I am short (5'3") and weigh more than most my size - somewhere between 140 and 150 - but I am athletic and a center halfback for a soccer team - which means I run my butt off on a regular basis. I know I am above what I was in college or dare I say the evil words - high school (everyone's dream of themselves but I don't even think my bones are the same size they were back then). Back then I was 120-130 and looked fine or better than fine. I want to lose some more weight to get back down to 130. I seem to carry weight better than a lot of people my height but I know I don't look my best at this weight. My double chin is getting in the way of seeing my toes. ;)

I'm about 5' and weigh about 112. For me (right now, anyway), weight isn't a huge concern...I know I need to excercise more and eat healthier than I do currently, but it's because I want to get in shape, not because I want to lose 10 pounds or something. Most people who know me would say that I definitely don't need to lose any weight and I'm already skinny, but because I'm so short, I think I would feel better about myself if I was more in shape.

I'm 5'6" and weigh around 145, which is a good weight for me. I lost 90 lbs over a 15 month period by counting calories (I still keep a food diary) and exercising, and when I hit 135 people started telling me "You're too thin!"

I am VERY happy to say that I am 5'9 1/2 and I weigh 200 pounds!! :cool1: :cool1: I have been 200+ pounds for years! My heaviest was 250, or so at least I think it was, I stopped weighing myself when I hit 245. I know that my biggest size was a 3X and I am now a Misses size 16! I still have those size 26 pants and I keep them to remember, to NEVER be that size again!! I was SO unhealthy!
I don't care what the world wants me to weigh, I care what I want to weigh. My goal is 180 and I hope to reach it before my birthday in July. It's only 20 pounds away, so I know I can do it. :teeth:

It's quite exciting to know I'm down 50 pounds total with 35 of those being thanks to Atkins. I'm sooooooo glad that I'm one of the people ATKINS works for!! ::yes::
DH is looking good too. He won't weigh himself, but I know he has to dropped close to 40 pounds himself if not 50! Isn't that awesome...we lost one of CAnn!! :p ;)

Denise

I've lost 70lbs in the last 11 months, and I plan to lose 50 more. I feel great now, I was 300lbs when I first stepped on the scale last year. My size 18's are getting too big and for the first time in a long time I feel comfortable walking, sitting ect. My real goal is to wear a size 14. I'm 5'6 and like my curves.:D

I'm 5'5" and 140 lbs. I am happy with my weight, though I wouldn't mind losing maybe ten pounds.

I was 120 lbs right up until November 1998. I got married then, and somehow, gained twnety pounds. Don't really know when it happened, but why is easy...I am in a contented relationship, and my husband loves to cook. In fact, I don't think I ever really ate until I met.

But really, I think 140 looks pretty good on me, I am curvy and shapey. I wear a size six or eight. The only thing I would change if I could is the little bit of belly that I have...but then, that has always been there.

BTW, my best friend (who was 5' 3" and about 300lbs at the time) did get nearly stuck in a turnstile at Disney. She's now doing the South Beach diet, and has lost something like 15 inches from her waist. South Beach seems to be a good alternative to Atkins for some people.
