Just wondering how much to tip mousekeeping at a moderate per day? :scratchin

THANKS! ONLY 6 days to go!!! :cool1:

I usually leave $5 for two people. I made up mousekeeping envelopes for each day in case the staff changed each day.

I know you should leave a tip each day and I know they can't take any money unless it is marked that it is for them.

Last May, at CBR, we left $5.00 each day from our family of 4.

I left her $10 everyday in a marked envelope (there were 4 of us). Before we left for our trip I put the money in each envelope and then just put them in the room safe.

Thank you for starting this thread! I was wondering the same. I only left a tip on the day we left :sad2: I know better now!! Thanks! :flower3:

My wife and myself $3,,no special requests other than extra pillows when we get there...

This is good to know..didn't know you should do this. We are staying at All Stars Movie---what would be a good tip per day?

Disney states that mousekeeping is a NON-tipped position. :stir:

So, unless you are really messy or asking for something extra, I don't see all this extra money. JMHO. This subject always causes a debate.

I could never NOT tip them. They are cleaning up after you. I know they are paid for their job but I think of that as a tip position- just like a waitress.

I generally figure 1-2 per person per day./ If the kids are messy or they leave us towel animals or extra tolietries or something I add more. I do it daily in case we have a different person. I would hate for the one who did the work to not get the money.

We tip $2 a day for the 2 of us. However I pick up our room everyday so mousekeeping doesn't have to do very much. I also make my daily envelopes us in advance and than I just put one out everyday.

We just got back from our 1st Disney vacation (stayed at All Star Movies) and didn't tip Mousekeeping... only because before we left I'd read somewhere they were not allowed to accept tips. There was no envelope left either like we usually find at other non-Disney hotels we've stayed.

But even if they were allowed tipping, DH felt we didn't have good enough service/cleaning to tip either before or during our stay. They were friendly but requests were not fulfilled & we had to call front desk mulitple times--even on the 1st day-- to get what we needed (towels and cups!) and our room wasn't very clean when we checked in either. You could write your name in the dust on the TV and dresser and there was coffee rings from previous guest on the table. (And poo on the toilet and hair on the bathroom floor, you get the idea.)

Maybe it's because they knew we'd be coming and not tipping popcorn::
