We know a lot of people in the Service Industry here in NYC so we are always trying to tip well so we were really confused with the whole tipping aspect of the ship. We ended up tipping whatever they suggested but then added for our servers and state room host. (I didn't even think we would ever see the stateroom host but we always saw him and he was always super friendly calling us by name etc). Bartenders it was super weird because if I got a drink and the tip was less than a dollar I had to give more. I'm used to a dollar or 2 being more of the standard.
Lastly Palo also confused us because its only $30 a person for a meal that would easily be more than $100 on land so if we tipped our standard 20% it would be 20% of $60 rather than the price we felt it would have been on land. I know it's not land and thats the point and Disney's tipping system seems to work for their employees but we felt weird and just tipped off of what we thought the bill should have been.
