How much do you spend on your child's sneakers?

For my 2 little ones I have paid up to $25 for a pair of Nike tennis shoes. For my 2 oldest the most I have paid is $100 but usually between $30-$60 is the average. I have bought cheaper shoes for them and they dont last. My oldest shoes are really going to go up soon, he is already in a 14 and luckily some places carry that size but when his foot gets bigger we will probably have to special order them.

As my kids have gotten older, they are tougher on their shoes. I have found that if I buy the cheaper sneakers for my kids($10-$15), they don't last as long and then I have to go and buy another pair. By then, I will have paid more than if I had bought the $40-$45 shoes to start with.

The brands that seems most durable for my kids is Reebok and I guess Nike comes second (they tend to be narrow though). My kids all had Skechers and IMO they don't hold up as well, the seams come undone & the rubber comes unglued. I just bought DD a pair of Nike sneakers for $13 at KidsRus on clearance, I thought that was a very good price. I look for shoes when they're on sale.

I guess around $25 to $45 for tennis shoes. Shoes are something I usually buy name brand. New Balance seems to be the most durable. My "indulgence" in kid's shoes are TEVA sandals. I won't buy an imitation. Whenever I tried to get the Wal-Mart kid's sandals, they never lasted more than a few weeks. I'll pay whatever TEVA charges. They last forever and are absolutely indestructable.

My son is 7 and we usually spend about $40-$60 on his sneakers. He is really into basketball so we got him the jordans for $45 and Iversons for $55, they're both still in great condition, he wears them for basketball practice and to school everyday. I find with the cheaper shoes they really do not last that long, especially with a boy who is tough on them so I figure I might as well get the better ones that last longer. I told him when he is older, he will get $100 sneakers when he has a job and can pay for them himself! I can even understand $80 on shoes, but anything over $100, I say naaaaay! princess:

I like buying lots of shoes for DD for different outfits. They are anywhere from $10 at Walmart to $50 or so from Nordstrom or stride-rite.

DS just has one pair, they are usually around 35-50 for regular old tennis shoes.

My son now wear's a man's size 11 1/2! DH just took him to get a new pair last week, I think they spent around $60--found a pair he liked on sale at Modell's.

He'll get eight months to a year out of them, so I can't complain :)

I've bought at Target, Payless, Walmart, Sears and Lands End.

I think the most I have paid is $20.

Mom doesn't have one place where she buys shoes. We buy them all over. mine are usually $30.00-$40.00 and my brother's are about the same if not cheaper. I have 3 pairs of shoes. A pair of Vans that I've had for over a year, Some Converse All Stars I got from my boyfriend [yes they fit], and a pair of Kangoroos [aka Roos yes the ones from the 80's]

Well I spend between 20 -35 dollars a pair for my daughters sneekers. My suggestion is to go to the reebok outlet. Suprise , suprise there are like 3 or 4 of them in the orlando area. This affords me the opportunity to get expensive reeboks at affordable prices. If you have the time while your in orlando stop in and take a look at one of the outlets. Often you can get a deal like buy a pair get one half off. Or buy 2 get 1 pair free. Last time I purchased three pair of reebok shoes for my daughter and only paid 45dollars plus tax. And there is a discount website I think it is called www.treefrog.com that you can download a coupon for the reebok stores. If I am wrong about the website I will post the correction later.

Honestly it depends on where I find some that I like for DD. Usually between $20-30. :)

Puma sneakers are popular right now with the middle school crowd, (here anyway). I just bought my daughter two pair. I would have bought only one pair, ($65.00), but they were on "sale", two pair for $89.00. i figure she'll get a lot of wear out of them.

I waited too long the last time for shoes for DS, and he really NEEDED them...I ended up spending around $60.00 for a pair of Nikes. That said, I usually shop sales or online for much less. I do however always go for better shoes. I grew up with bargain shoes and I still pay for it with pains in my feet...

:)

I try to stay between $25 to $35 for the first pair and then the second pair is usually $10 to $15...But I have also found that the cheaper shoes don't last as long as the name brands..

Thankfully my girls aren't too picky about sneakers. I can pick them up anywhere I can find a bargain.

Dance shoes are an entirely different story

DD is into sports big time so I usually go with what feels and fits good for her. Most of the time they are around $100 for running and basketball shoes, and then of course indoor and outdoor soccer shoes.

DS #1 gets a pair once a year maybe so I spend around $80

DS#2 hard to fit, needs a wide so he gets New Balance and those are around $45

I just bought DS a pair of Nike Shox 2 weeks ago $149.00 That is what I paid for mine and DH . We all have the same kind but different colors . IT sounds crazy but you gotta walk in a pair before you lock me up :teeth:

Now Wrestling shoes we pay whatever they want to charge us because DS wears a mens 13 not a easy size to find !

Wishing you all a Tagged night

My son (13) ONLY wears the Converse All-Stars, so they are about $40 a pair. He got some for X-mas and he just had a b-day so he has now 8 or 9 pair. He usually never wears matching ones.

My DD's vary in price. She usually gets 2 pair a year.

Now my own shoes cost anywhere from $80 on up. Usually around $100-$140. I've had several surgeries on both my feet and now I can only wear 1 shoe, so I pay that much money for 1 shoe. That's what I hate!!

I have only ever bought my daughter Stride Rite sneakers...I had cheap sneakers growing up and have very bad feet now and I don't want that happening to my daughter. The foot Dr has told me to always get shoes with good support like Nike or New Balance...I don't want my daughter to have foot trouble when she gets older, I tried payless shoes once and they hurt my feet so I wouldn't even try them with her. I usually spend about 60.00 on mine and 50.00 on hers.

My DS is 5 and I spend anywhere from 25.00 to 50.00 on his shoes. I like Nike 's for him. My daughter even has a pair of crib shoe Nike's cost 20.00. My last Nike's were 50.00.

I usually only spend $15-$25, depending on what I can find. I try and get bargains at Nordstrom Rack for my kids- I often find Stride Rites, Nikes and New Balance there for around the $20 mark. Sometimes I will buy them a second pair at Payless Shoes for $10 or so. I do agree that the name brand shoes usually last longer and are more comfortable on their feet. My kids are only 6 & 2, so I am sure the cheap shoes will come to an end soon. We will still go to the Rack first though, just to try and get a bargain!
