For your kids?

For your SO?

For your parents?

For other kids birthday parties?

Close friends?

Co-Workers?

I mostly want to know the kid one. My mom thinks I spend way too much on my kids at their birthday, but everything costs so much! We wind up spending about $100 on gifts, which really doesn't buy that much.

I come from a family that doesn't buy gifts for adults. It is a true blessing since we are a large family. For neices, nephews, and much younger brother it is around 30.00 For our own child we typically have a very nice party that has something for all ages since we are spead out from ages 3-16. We usually put money in her account since everyone that comes brings her a gift. For her friends parties we rarely go over 20.00 Hope this helps.

I spend way too much, I'm sure. The older Travis gets the more I spend. If you can afford what you spend, what difference does it make?

I dont spend to much on anybody but go waaaaaaaay over board for my daughter

And it seems like you spend all that money and get crappy gifts in return.

I know it is the thought that counts, but at least CHOOSE something appropriate for the recipient.

For the kids, it varies ., can be to $100 .....................Hubby..............around $50

My Mum & DB $20 a piece

B'day parties for kids friends............$10 - $20

For your SO?
My fiancee's birhday is a few weeks after Christmas, but I usually spend between $50-$100 for his b-day.

For other kids birthday parties?
Just spent about $16 on a gift for my 5 year old neice. (Lite Brite!)

Brothers & Sisters= about $20 to $25 per sibling.

How much do you spend on Birthday Gifts?

For your kids? I only have one child and I usually spend about $100 and have a nice party for him.

For your SO? For my DH I usually spend $100, but if there is something he really wants and it is more I will buy it because he rarely asks for anything.

For your parents? Usually about $50. They are almost 80 years old and they have everything.

For other kids birthday parties? If it is a child from school usually $10-15. If it is a child whom my child is very good friends with and the families are friends usually about $20-25. If they are niece's and nephew's I will spend $30-35.

Close friends? Usually about $25-30.

Co-Workers? I will usually chip in if there is an office pool, otherwise I don't buy for co-workers. And for my boss I used to buy here flowers on her birthday and a card.

On our son we usually spend anywhere from $50 to $100 BUT he usually has a pretty awesome party with about 15 to 20 kids (bowling, laser tag etc...) & that costs about $300 (& we are people of simple means too!) We just sacrifice to throw him a party he won't soon forget.

Parents ~ depended on what my Mom wanted or needed. One year Mom wanted a recliner chair, so we got that. Last year she wanted a downed comforter, we got her that. The year before she wanted a beige sweater....you get the picture. It would be anywhere from $300 to $15. She always said she wanted nothing but we knew what she wanted/needed.

Spouse ~ always needs new clothes, socks & something Disney (about $50 to $100)

Nieces & Nephews ~ around $40 but this year for my niece I went overboard & spent about $60 on Scrapbooking stuff & it looks like nothing!

Friends from school & neighborhood parties ~ $20 to $25.

For your kids? Just had birthday yesterday, about $50. Plus the party which was about $50.

For other kids birthday parties? $10

My kids-$100 and a party.
Other kids-$10-$20
SO-around $50
Parents-$30-$50
Sibs-$30

For my son I usually spend around $50.00-$75.00 (he has only had two birthdays) HOWEVER this year my husband surprised him (and me) buying my son his own tv and dvd player (the Mickey Mouse ones) he is ONLY 2!! that is another story though.

For my husband usually around $50.00 (unfortunately he is 5 days after Christmas).

Family members only my mom and neices and nephews they each get approx. $20.00 gift. My siblings and siblings in law just get cards.

kids parties approx $10.00-$15.00
