How much do you spend on Disney vacations? We're going for 9 nights - need to do up a budget...and would love to hear what your travel costs are broken down:

Your Transportation costs?
Your Hotel stay costs?
Your Ticket costs?
Your Food costs?
Your Souvenirs cost?

(have I forgotten anything? It has been a while since I've been there)

Welll DH & I are going for our second time is April :) (So very excited!!!:cheer2: ) Anyways, our budget is :

Your Transportation costs: rental car included in package
Your Hotel stay costs: included in package (Total with airfare/rental car as well: $1300 Cdn)
Your Ticket costs: We are getting a Park Hopper 7 day pass...$598 for 2 PLUS Universal tickets $200 (7 day/2 park pass)
Your Food costs: $500-600
Your Souvenirs cost: no limit really...we are not big on souvenirs....I'd say $200

Total Trip: $2800-$3000

Your Transportation costs? We drive and have a Ford Escape-around $300 for gas round trip and that is driving around the kissimmee, wdw resort area.
Your Hotel stay costs? Last year we took two nights on the way down, I booked the hotels in advance, they were aroung $80/night.This year we are doing the same we found we weren't as tired, they are $69/$89 with our CAA discount. The hotel on the way home is usually a HIEX and we get a kids suite so it is around $100 with our CAA. As for onsite I book a package thru CAA agent in London(she is awesome) this year we are staying at CSR and got the 7 day hoppers that expire, for the four of us DH,DD10,DS7 and myself, for $2611 US this is for Nov 26-Dec7 which is 11 nights.
Your Ticket costs?see above
Your Food costs? We did the dining plan last year 'cause we did not need to buy tickets we had some left over. Also we choose not to do it this year as DD is considered an adult. We will just do counter services with one TS this trip. I have do this in previous years and saved money...by splitting meals etc.
Your Souvenirs cost? We each usually get a couple of shirts, which we buy at the Target, but have now found the Disney Character Outlet so we will be going there again. Plus I found the Creative Disigns board and will be making some shirts. Last year we spent more 'cause I did Christmas shopping. I would say just pick an amount and stick to it. We usually take $1500 US and do just fine buying meals and come home with some. DH is awesome in the saving spending money, he rolls all our change...including Twoonies and Loonies, and each month takes some in and exchanges it into american and deposits it into our account. Take Care and Good Luck Planning if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. Kathy

If we fly from Pearson, I find tickets, accomodations and airfare are all around the same price....we usually stay 9-11 nights in a Disney moderate resort and buy 7 day hopper plusses that don't expire. We like to go March or April for the great weather.

We don't buy a lot of souveniers....t-shirts and a few toys for the kids.

Food is about $100 a day for the four of us....but that's just an average. We like character meals, so those days are higher, while other days are maybe one counter service meal and food we prepare ourselves.

Last year's trip cost about $7000, this year's trip is only $4000 because we have Disney tickets left over from last year.

No 'pre-set' budget but I do know it's always a 'whole lot more' than I thought it was going to be when that bill comes hanging on the door!

:scared1:

I always make a budget, but allow for LOTS of extra spending....last year we came within $5.00 of budget!

I really enjoy the "over kill" planning part of the trip. I even anticipate where we will eat and get out of menu via Deb Wills for prices.

Saying that, we tend to have LOADS of spontaneous fun too! Last year we rented Sea Raycers and now we are HOOKED!

This trip is a little more "seat of our pants" since we want tons of DOWN time!

Your Transportation costs? = $250 gas there and back and hotel on the way down
Your Hotel stay costs? DVC members= 0 out of pocket for the trip
Your Ticket costs? 10 day hoppers non expiry = 2 trips so approx 225 a trip PP (per person)
Your Food costs? 150 for 2 weeks including meals out and groceries to cook meals in our room/villa
Your Souvenirs cost? 300-400 over 2 weeks but usually much less.

We use Maple leaf tickets for our 10 day hoppers and we use 5 days on each trip so we get 2 trips out of our passes we drive down and spend about $250 for our gas and hotel to go there and home total I know this to be high though as our Dec trip it was only about 175 CDN for gas there and home and only 39.99 for our hotel. Our souvies we take 500 US spending for this and never even come close to spending that much. We only eat meals out 2 times a week and the rest of the time we cook in our villa. Our grocery costs for the 2 weeks is about 70 bucks roughly and the rest is on eating meals outside our room. Our room cost as DVC members we don't have an annual room cost like those that book through CRO or a TA but it did cost us 14K to buy our points we do own. Mind you we have more than covered that with our trips to WDW tus far every other trip is just gravy now as far as that cost goes.

Your Transportation costs? Likely about $1300 Canadian but flying out of Detroit for four of us (including park and fly)

Your Hotel stay costs?$1800 approximately. Staying at the Coronado for 8
nights.

Your Ticket costs? Included in the hotel cost

Your Food costs? We're doing DDP so about $1000. I just didn't want to nickel and dime myself to death while we were there. We're going high style! lol

Your Souvenirs cost? I'm budgeting for about $500. I'm not a big "souvenier" person. Maybe some t-shirts for the kids, a thimble for my daughter's collection and stuff for my nephews. We're doing Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique and that'sa bout $40. My husband is doing the Richard Petty driving in Daytona so that's another $800 on top of that with the rental car. Oh and a round of golf, add $150. Dang! My husband is totally blowing my budget!! :rotfl2:
So I guess about $1400, give or take. But the RP will be paid for before we go so I guess I'm down to $600. :woohoo:

All in all, I think when I converted every cost it came to about $6000 Canadian. Keep your fingers crossed for Free Dining!!!

This is scary:eek:

Transportation costs: Approx. $400 round trip

Hotel Cost: We plan on stopping for 1 night both ways at approx. $80/ night so Approx. $160

Package: 5day 4 nights, POP century (need 2 rooms as we have 6 people in our family), with Park hoppers option and Waterparks and more option, with the dining Plan Approx. $3300

Food for Travel: $140 round trip

2 nights at Universal area hotel: $120 total

2 days at Universal: $600

Food while at Unviersal $240

Souveniers: I am not a huge souvie person. Only planning on a few small things, as the kids will each have their own money (about $120 US each) so I will say $800 spending money which will include hubby's drinks at the restaurants.

For a Whopping Grand Total of: $5760...OMG...who do I think I am? I can't afford this!!!!!!!!!!!

We took our first trip recently to WDW. We did a package. It was dh, me, ds13, dd10, ds4

-flights from Calgary 2200.00cad
-trip insurance 400.00cad
Package
-9 nights at POR w/trundle
DDP 4A 1C
8 day ph passes 4800.00cad
spending money
-drinks
-souvies etc.1500.00cad

Came to 8500.00cad or 7200.00us

Next time we will spend less and will get connecting rooms at ASMO. Honestly the only thing I will miss is the hot tub. Dh wants to stay at GF but I refuse to throw our cash away like that....kind of like how we did on our first trip! :) :confused3

January 06 Trip - Family of 5 (2A, children - 13, 12, 2) - 6 Nights, 7 Days

Flights from Buffalo -$720 U.S.
Buffalo Hotel - $100 (Includes 1 week car parking)
Hotel - Rented DVC (Saratoga Springs) - $712.50 U.S.
Dining Plan - $935.76 U.S.
Park Tickets - $850
Spending Money - $300.00 (We found we didn't need much since we had the dining plan)

GRAND TOTAL - $3617.88 U.S.

Next trip will be a little more expensive, as my son has turned 3.

Not sure of the breakdown of costs but for this trip, arriving Sept 9 and departing Sept 22, staying at POP Century, 10 day park hopper with water parks and more, and the DDP for 3 adults, 1 child will be $5000. Then I need to add on flights which right now will run me $3000 for the 4 of us, so I waiting for the seats to get cheaper.

We won't be buying any souviners this trip, so not taking much spending money. Of course the kids will have $100 each to spend.

I never add it up! We pay for our flight then I try to forget about it. We pay for dinner shows and try to forget about it. We pay for DVC and try to forget about it. We order groceries for our room and try to forget about it. I notice a pattern here:lmao: We take about $2000 US for other things like food and park tickets, souvenirs, Goofy's candy shop at DTDpopcorn:: etc... and hope that there is something left over....

Depends on the trip really and how much we HAVE to spend. But this trip coming up will cost us - the Disney part at least.....

Your Transportation costs? $800US
Your Hotel stay costs? -$400 We are staying a week on our DVC points and my brother, sil and dniece are staying in the 2 bedroom with us and paying us $400
Your Ticket costs? $0 we have AP left over from our last trip so you can take 1/3 the AP price since we did 2 weeks the first trip and 1 this trip so $460
Your Food costs? $800 is what I'm allowing for
Your Souvenirs cost? $500 and the kids have their own money they've earned

So not including the cruise we are taking first it will cost us approx $2200 - when you add in the cruise (since dh feels it's a waste of a vacation to just go away for 1 week when you are paying all that airfare anyway) I'll add in $3000 for the cruise, $300 for hotels before and after the cruise and another $150 for the rental car to get from the cruise to Disney and another few hundred for misc. things.

So 2 weeks of vacation for less then $6500

Well I leave a week from today, so far here is our budget:

2 Flights from Halifax (adults) = 50000 aeroplan miles + $180 in taxes (Cdn)
Accom= $474 USD including all taxes for a 4 bd/3bath house in Hampton Lakes area (Davenport)
Car rental $158 USD from Thrifty using Orlando magic card discount code
WDW Tickets- from undercover tourise 6 day hoppers x 2 $566 CDN
Universal Tickets - 2x special 7 day unlimited $180 USD

This was all bought and paid for since December. Once we get there, we are both taking $1000 cdn and converting to USD and have to buy Busch Gardens Ticket ~$60 USD each, and Kennedy Space Center ~35 USD. And the rest we will spend on meals, gas, souveniers, etc. So total budget is about $1700 USD for tickets/attractions and accomodations, it did help we used aeroplan miles though.....so I'll update when I get back on our total spendings!
