I've been pondering this question of how much will we actually need (wife who loves to shop, myself and our 2yr old son). We've been saving $30 out of every paycheck for a little while now and will have a little over $700 by the time we leave plus we have $75 Disney Dollars waiting for us when we check in. I'm thinking this will be way too much but I geuss we'll never know until we are there. We have the dining plan so the only thing we will be spending money on is souvenirs and a few meals (mainly breakfast).

I'd think you'd be all set. I save change, gift money, rebates, etc between trips. I had over $700 our last one. What we don't spend, I bring home and put in the pot for our next trip! :)

Im aiming for 1600 for just DS13 & myself when we're there in Aug for 2wks
not counting park tickets

How long do you plan on staying at WDW? Length of stayis a major factor in how much money to bring.

Sorry, I totally forgot to post that I will be there for 7 days.

For our 10 day trip (DS7 & myself) I am planning on taking $2000. This includes food & souvenirs. Everything else is paid for...42 days and counting! :cool1:

We did the dining plan and it cut our budget to $50. a day spending money ( $350.), plus the girls have $70. in disney dollars saved. For us and a 7 day stay that is all we need.

We have everything paid for(bought a package with airfare and dining) and we have about $2000 saved plus $100 Disney Dollars that the kids got for Christmas . That is for DH, DD-6, DS-8 and myself for 7 days.

Wow, I couldnt imagine spending $2000 in a week at Disney. Thats a lot of souvenirs. I'm sure my wife could do it but it would make me sick thinking about it.

We save up $100 per day... $50 in souviener money, and $50 emergency/extras money per day. It may seem like a lot, but whatever we don't use goes towards the next disney trip, and its budgeted into what we save each month so we don't miss it as we're saving and pleasantly surprised when we get to spend it.

Hi:)
looks like were neighbors:)
I dont think thats too much, money doesnt last long at WDW, altough the water was slightly cheaper this year, we used to refill our water bottles but with all the germs going around, buying water is best.
Stop at the WDW gas stations they had evian on sale for 99 cents last year.
have a great trip!:)

I have to say coming from a shopaholic if your wife is in LOVE and addicted to WDW as am I you'd better hope you bring your credit card w/ you!LOL! We normally bring w/ us (me,DH, & 4yoDD) $1000 cash and then charge the max $1500 to our credit card sometimes even have to leave another creidt card!!!(SHHH DH doesn't know that!!) If your wife can restrain herself I do think you'll be okay. You could give your little one the Disney Dollars and you and your DW could have $50 each per day. Thant's not bad if your meals are paid for!!! Have a GREAT trip!!

We budget $1,000/week, but always have a few hundred left over.

Still, little things add up: tips for Mouskeeping, valet parking, sundries, quick snacks, "impulse" buying of pins, yadda yadda yadda.

Better safe than sorry! :earboy2:

We usually bring between $1000 - $1500 but that also was money for food. Since your food is already paid for I think you have plenty. I also like to shop but we do just fine with what we bring (We went 10 days last time and there was 4 of us - kids did save up some of their own money for soveneirs).

We started saving as soon as we booked our trip. We try to bring around $2,000.00 with us for 7 days. We like to eat at the nice restaurants, as well as the counter service, and if we see something that we want, we buy it!!!! We always buy souveniers for our family and for our baby (our minpin, Jack). We usually come home with money, which get put right into our savings account. I know it sounds like a lot, but believe me the money gets depleted very quickly. Enjoy!!! :earboy2:

My dh and I budget $50 per person, per day. But, that includes our food money also. We share a lot of meals and don't buy a ton of souveneirs, but we don't skimp on anything either. We get what we want and have never gone over budget. You should be fine I think.

We do the same $50. per person per day. My dd gets one gift/toy per day. I also love to eat nice. We only drink bottled water and love getting Mickey ice cream and popcorn. I have never run out of cash.

. . . over $700 . . . I'm thinking this will be way too much . . .

1) WDW is a very friendly and accomdating place.
2) If you want to spend $700, they can find ways for you to do it.
3) Isn't it nice how things just seem to work out?

My DH and I are not credit card people. We normally take it but only us it for our dinner the last night at Planet Hollywood. I think the key is to give yourself a limit. We have the dining plan this year and our 3 kids have managed to save 100 each so far. We are taking the normal 100$ a day spending and its enough because that's the way we want it. The key for us is not to come home and still have to pay. This makes it possible for us to go every other year and we use our tax refund. I have to add we come home with a ton and the rule is "if you can get it at home don't buy it". Last year my 4 yo wanted all the princess dolls but they were 24$ a piece, we could get them at Walmart for 14-16$. Good luck lol me and my girls LOVE to shop but we end up with alot I think you will be fine.
