How much do you rely on Disney transportation?

In all of my previous WDW trips I've relied on Disney transportation exclusively, but this will be my first trip that I'll have a vehicle. We are renting a golf cart and I'm thinking that this trip I'm going to mix it up for our transportation outside of the Fort. With the exception of our evening at HS to see F!, we'll rely on WDW transportation, but use our car to go to our resort and Downtown Disney ressies. I'm actually looking forward to the flexibility that having a vehicle will bring!

That's what we do. Use WDW transportation to the parks and drive to resorts. Exception of the MK resorts. It's easier to take the boat/monorail to these. DTD is hard to find a parking spot especially on the weekends.

100% - Been going since 1972 and have always used Disney transportation with the exception of 1 year used our vehicle for the water parks. We've driven our MH's for the last 12 years, and don't even bother to tow a vehicle there.

Love being able to totally immerse ourselves in *Disney* and leave all our driving to them. Over the years we have had *very* few bad experiences with waiting for buses, etc. Once about 10 of us waited a long time for bus at DHS, and a transportation official came out, apologized, and gave us all *any park* all day FP's for the next day ;)

Maybe we're more the laid back sort, but waiting a few extra minutes for a bus sometimes, does not overly upset us. We have had to live by schedules so long that we love the freedom of going with the flow and *never leaving* Disney for a moment while we are there. It's just part of the great experience and ambiance for us. pixiedust:

My main reason for wanting to drive vs. Disney transport would be for the several resort dining ressies that we have. I have no desire (based on past trips) to have to transfer at a park just to get to the resort.

We almost exclusively use disney transportation. We find it easier than strapping kids into car seats, manuevering the traffic, and remembering where we park. Plus, we are usually with a large group, and it's just more fun to travel together, rather than take a bunch of vehicles. (Plus it allows splitting up without worrying about who takes the vehicle...)

When we went with the kids, we used Disney transportation all the time. Since we have been going with just the two of us, we take the boat to MK and drive to all the other parks. Easier on these old bones after a day in the park to not wait for a bus. Also faster to get back to the MH in the afternoon for a break.

Guess we always go to the park in the evenings the closest to where our resort ressie is so don't make a special trip by way of a park.
AK to Boma
MK to "Ohana
Epcot to Cape May
FW to Trails End

Those are the main TS we do, so never thought of making a special trip. Most of our other meals are CS unless we decide to grab something in the MH at FW.
We have no desire to go off site, so Disney transportation if perfect for us.

If I had older kids, that plan would work. But, with a 4 & 7 yr old that have high sleep needs and being a rope drop family, we don't do evenings in the parks and I can't see spending the time to get from FW to another resort and then back.

We rely 100% on Disney transportation. For us... it's part of the fun. Some moments have been more fun that others.... We did rent a car once when we were including Wizarding World of HP for a day.

I understand ;)

Actually, by evenings, I really meant afternoons, we are early dinner diners ourselves. :goodvibes

We have never been to Disney without a vehicle. We always use their transportation, boat or bus to Magic Kingdom. My husband says its easier and wins out! LOL! We always drive to downtown Disney. I Win so he must think I'm right LOL! ! I just think its easier if I am going to have packages! Downtown Disney has always been alot of people and circling to find a place to park. Like at Christmas at the malls. It is better earlier in the day but we seem to be there usually at night! We always drive to the water parks. If we have reservations to eat at the resorts we think its easier to just drive ourselves but if they are at the theme parks we don't because we are always there or headed there for the day. For the most part we usually do use their transportation for all the theme parks. Once we drove to Animal Kingdom because we had early reservations at Tusker House. We drove once to Hollywood Studios for no reason. Animal Kingdom seemed easier to park than Hollywood Studios. HS seemed like a maze getting back to our vehicle. We parked close but had to walk further than where we would have been droped off by Disneys bus. Of course if you can arrive early to the theme parks it is better closer parking.

A benefit of using the buses is in hot weather. The air is on and I don't have to get into a hot car.
