How much do you plan?

When we were at Disney in 2000 we traveled with our 2 kids (4 & 22 months) and my in-laws. My DH laughed at me because I did so much preplanning for the trip. He thought we should just go where the whim took us. My MIL, however, tells many people that without my planning we would have missed so many things. My DD opened Fantasyland one day. We had one PS scheduled per day (most days) and it was in the park we were at. My DD did the Wonderland Tea Party and was scheduled (but cancelled) for the Pirate Cruise. My DS had a nap everyday. We did the Illuminations Birthday Cruise and HDD.

Now we are scheduled to go in December and I am once again planning--and my DH is still laughing. My in-laws; however, know that when we get there I will have it all organized and we'll have a ball! This time we'll have 3 kids (7, turning 5 at WDW, and 19 months)

I think that this works different for everyone, but I am gonna add one important thing, NAP NAP NAP....if you can go back to hotel and take a break everyday. IT really makes a difference. Also just remember that WDW will be there in a few years so whatever you miss you can do again another time.

I am the planner for our family. I plan the parks and the meals and we let everything else fall into place.
