Just to throw this out there, and I hope there isn't a rule about asking this, but how much do you pay for a tag for your camper? Just wondering, called today regarding my new Jayco 32BHDS and she informed me it was going to be $550 a year:crazy2: How does this compare to you guys?

If I'm reading it right in PA its $6 under 3,000 lbs., 3,001 to 10,000 $12.

I'm thinking MS is a state where you also pay like a "property tax" on your vehicles. I just paid my car and it was $36.

I'm feeling kicked in the groin... Tag for 4 Runner was $400...

Oh holy SPIT! I believe we paid about 70.00 to register our pup. Might be more for a TT, but STILL, that's a ton of $$,

I think last I looked it was 5% state income tax, but yes 7% sales tax.

By "TAG" do you mean license plate??

Here in Wisconsin we didn't need a plate for our pop up and when we up graded out our 26 ft TT the plates cost us 15 dollars a year for new stickers.

I hope were talking about the same thing.

You would think that for something so expensive, we would say "license plate". Maybe then it wouldn't feel so bad paying for it. Maybe if it was gold or silver plated...:sad2:

Xterra, I used to live in Tennessee, Alcoa, south of Knoxville. If I remember correctly, I paid $35 for a plate. Wait, we didn't have to have an inspection sticker either, if I recall.

Oh well, anybody else got a really low price to make me feel worse?

could it be that the first year also includes a state tax on the purchase of the camper not collected by the seller. In NJ we pay the tax on first tag and then just renewal fee after that.

As a former Mississipian I feel your pain. Down here in Florida I pay $75.00 for my 34 foot Holiday Rambler.

In Michigan you purchase a permanent plate, paying a one time fee. The price is dependent on the value of the rv. Our 30' bunk house was about $150 as I recall.

As your neighbor here in Alabama, we must pay about the same! Our 2004 Fleetwood 38' is still costing over $600 a year! When we bought it back in '04, it cost over $1,000! We feel your pain! :headache:

Negative, payed the sales tax, which is required when you purchase in state. Had I gone over to another state and bought it, then the cost of the first tag would have included the sales tax. Nope, just what we pay. I think my neighbors in Alabama are close to this price as well.

Yes, we are. At least we can deduct the tax portion on our taxes! :thumbsup2
