I REALLY try not to pay more than $3 & buy on sale. Regular price on some of the brands are close to $6. Luckily there are a few brands we really like & we can pick the best price.

I've read that we New Englanders eat more ice cream than any other part of the country. So gotta keep that ice cream budget in check.

You must live in some kind of super bargain area, because major brand (Edy's, Breyers, Deans) is rarely under $3.50 for 1.75 QT (remember when it was 2 quarts...).

I've paid upwards of $5 for a pint of Ben & Jerry's. When you gotta have it, you gotta have it!

Regular price for our favorites (Friendly's, Edy's, Hood) are in the $5.99 range for a 1/2 G -- oops, they've shrunk it to 1.75 quarts. However, we never pay that, just hold out until there's a good sale and then stock up. Lately the sales have been better than b1g1free; last week Friendly's was $1.99 at one of our regular markets. So I guess I'd say we pay somewhere between $1.99 and $2.50 for 1.75q.

DH does like Ben & Jerry's in those little containers (pint size?). I'll splurge from time to time, and get him 1 or 2, typically when they are in the same $1.99-$2.50 range.

usually I buy Ben and Jerry's as I want the ice cream but I dont need a quart of it sitting in my freezer taunting me. I swear I can hear it calling through the door. Usually it is around $4. here I think.

Blue Bell (my family's favorite) is $5.99 a half gallon. Unless someone puts it on sale that's what I pay. I might add that it is delicious. If it wasn't 7:00 in the morning I might just have some.
