Because we all know those hiring babysitters and collecting W4s, withholding taxes, and submitting to the government.

Like I posted above, as Independent Contractors they are exempt from all that.

As independent contractors, they should receive a 1099 at tax time. Employers are still supposed to track how much they paid in a year. If you think that's happening on anything close to a regular basis, I have a bridge to sell you.
