How much do you pay for school lunch?

umm well i also live in england so i'll try my best to convert

Paninis - £2.00 so thats about $3.50?

Pasta - £1.50 - $3.00

Fruit - 50p - $1.00

Yoghurts - £1.00 - $1.50/$2.00

ummm and we have stuff like hot dogs and chicken burgers.

in HS it was $2.25 for me. That included an entree, a fruit/veggie/side, a cookie/dessert, and a drink. The food was good and the portions were really decent sized, too. It was a good deal. It's only so high because we have a lot of kids who are free/reduced lunch.

In college, I pay about $600/semester and it's unlimited.

In high school it started off at like $2.50 freshman year and last year was $2.85. You could get a sandwich which you select what you want in it, the daily special, a slice of pizza, hamburger, chicken patty, or chicken nuggets with a side of salad, or fruit, and then a milk or cup of juice.

Fries, bottles of water, bottles of juice were extra.
then you could go to the other side and get a bagel or pop tart or chips and it would be expensive.

Now I'm paying $1,885 a semester for unlimited with up to 6 guests per semester.

i pay $2.35 a day... i get an entree (one choice), a fruit/veggie and a milk... you can get a salad for like $1.75 i think... but then pay for milk

Prices apparently were raised this year.. I looked on my board and for a [fried] Chicken patty sandwich, fries, and a soda its $5.00.

Honestly, for such revolting unhealthy food it's horrible.

they serve fries 2 or 3 days a week, the other days maybe just a salad.

And it comes with a milk.

Its terrible food.

The snack line has milkshakes, icees, moozarella sticks, nachos, pretzels, poptarts, cookies, muffins, kinishes, etc.

Wow. My high school seems real different from everyone elses school. Everything is a la carte, meaning we don't have a set price for xyz items (well we might but no one gets it). We've got 6 lines to choose from: a deli, pasta/chinese food, pizza/fries/grilled sandwiches, "american grill" (burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches), mexican, and a snack line. Everything costs different. I normally get grilled cheese and fries (around $3), pasta and a bag of chip or candy (around $4), or a calzone ($5). The food is really good mostly. The mexican isn't so great though...
Oh and sometimes I grab an Odawala juice smoothie if I had a big breakfast because I eat lunch at 10:45.

Anyway, I don't remember what it was in high school because I always skipped. The food was absolutely horrendous.

If I eat on campus it's usually about 5 bucks because I always go to the subway and get the combo thing. I pass Starbuck's on my walk to Humanities every morning, and sometimes my willpower isn't enough, and I'll get a tea with splenda and skim milk. That's 3 or 4 dollars, I think.

I could just swipe my student ID, but I don't really eat on campus that often so I don't bother with putting money on it. It's just cheaper for me to stop by a subway or panera on my way home from school.

WOW!!!! My school is so expensive. Just for the main thing and a can of something to drink is usually $5. Too add fries its another $1.50. Nothing is under $1 unless you like mints or a small bag of chips from the vending machine.

mine's expensive too!
but i just buy two extras so i pretty much waste money,
i hate the milk cause it just makes my stomach hurt, so i get a small water bottle and that's about $0.75 and a bag of baked chips and thats $1.50 or something like that,
than we have to get three items, the main entre and two sides. thats about $3.00
yes, its indeed a rip-off for crappy school food
