Inspired by a day at school today, how much do you pay for school lunch? What does it include?

At my high school, lunch is $1.30. It includes an entree (you get 4-5 choices), a side, a fruit, and milk. There are other options like salads, snack bar, and lots of drinks but it's extra. At the vo-tech, lunch is $2.35. Includes an entree (only 2 choices), a carb, a veggie, a fruit, and a milk. Like today was pizza or chicken patty, rice, green beans, fruit cup, and chocolate milk. That's the only thing they serve. The only thing you can order extra is a brownie for $.50.

I don't know how much you pay for school lunch, but to me it was a kick in the rear today. It's not even good food either. I think I'm going to start packing from home.

umm $1.25 chicken crisp from burger king at the food court with bottled water from home ;D

4.oo main food thing...fruit, lettuce (idk why but they always gimmie some) and milk.....its a complete rip-off I aint eatin there anymore!

when i was in high school it was like 2.50 a plate, (counting milk) it was extra for a water bottle.

i have 800.00 on a flex account at mtsu. it makes my id like a debit card, and i swipe it, and money is subtracted from my account. each meal is different, because we have a lot of different restaurants on campus. but none of the meals are taxed (if paid for with a meal plan) so thats always nice.

I'm pretty sure it's $2.00...that's for a choice between 2 entrees (usually like a burger or mozzarella sticks, etc.), and milk. Other drinks and snacks are usually 25 to 75 cents extra. We really got ripped off on pizza days in junior high though, because the slices were like super small and we still paid 2 bucks for them. As for the quality, it really depends on the entree.

I pay around 3.60 everyday.
That's a garlic finger (or a two slices of pizza) and a cookie.
If I want pudding instead, it's more like almost 5 bucks.

$2.50 I think.
It's really expensive.
I've never ate school lunch before except for trips.
I always bring a snack and then eat a bigger meal when I get home.

I believe it is $2.75. I skip school lunch though because the food isn't very good.

$2.50, including milk. It includes an entree and up to 3 sides.

A cookie is 60 cents. French fries cost another dollar.

$1.90

It comes with your lunch, fruit,a pickle if you get a sandwhich, and fries if you get hot luch except on mondays.
For lunch there are always: bagel's, sandwhices (made to order), and pizza. And there are usually 2 other choices that change each day.

Then there's a snack line where you get just snacks.
Cookies-1.00
Ice Cream-1.50 sprinkles +50
Slushie-1.00
Soft Pretzel-1.00
Churro-1.00
Snapple-1.50

and there's a lot more.

2.50 ish i think?
not sure . i always want to pack , but i'm too lazy .

I pack a lunch.. but it's like $2.50 here. It's BS, though, because you get a piece of crap entree, a small side, and a milk. Our rival school who's has like 100x less money than us and is in one of the worst communities as far as unemployment rate has a freaking food court.

Um, too much. I mean foods good but still overpriced. You could easily get $10 and up worth of stuff and not even have much.

It really depends on what you get we have like 5 different places to purchase food at my school 4 are owned by the school district one isn't
The main area sells Alfy's Pizza, an apple, and a milk for $3.00's
They also sell tater tots, french fries, and curly fries for a $1.00 each
Chicken Salads and Sandwiches for $4.00 each
and a daily main dish which is normally pasta, chicken, turkey, or something along that lines for $3.00
I normally only purchase curly fries from this area and all of there other food is yucky

We then have a stand that sells lattes, ICEE's, lots of sport drinks, muffins, and a couple of other things which the drinks normally run for $2-3's
I'm a pop kind of girl and normally don't purchase anything from here
Then we have the "Healthy stand" which sells apples, pretzels, a different daily soup, Ivars Clam Chowder, bassically anything healthy
Everything there runs for $4.00's and up I've only purchased Pretzels there which are always good!
Then we have one other stand which sells Chicken Nuggets, Cheese Sticks, Hashbrown Sticks, Egg Rolls, and lots of variety's of baked chips
Everything ther goes for about $2.50 each I normally get chicken nuggets from there about once a week and it's always yummy!
Then we have our DECA store which sells Dominoes Pizza, Soda Pop (This year they are only going to have diet which is really depressing), Terriyaki, Arizona's which this is my favorite place to buy food from!
They have a deal where you get 2 pieces of pizza and a pop for only $4.00
Also Terriyaki is only $2.00 which is a great deal
We also have a second latte stand at my school where the drinks are really good and go for about $3.00-$5.00 each that is where I get a drink if I think I will fall a sleep in class if I don't get one immediately they sell Italian Soda's, variety of Lattes including seasonal ones like Egg Nogg, and Pumpkin Spice everything is great there!
That's the run down of my schools food and cost it really come down to what you purchase!

I'm in england so it'll be in pounds but i can turn it into dollars roughly.

Sandwich- 1.80 pounds , so thats about $2.10
Crisps- 90p , about $1.00
cake of some sort- between 45p and 2.00 , so between 50 cence and $2.50
Drink- water is about 1.60 so around about $1.90
drink- a milkshake or something- about 80p so yeah about a dollar

(not good at converting the money but it depends on the exchange rate i suppose :S)

But yeah our school charges a lot for lunches because there is over 1000 of us to feed :S , so most of us have packed lunch, it's cheaper and easier to eat because you don't have the que's!

Ours varies depending what you get... its 1.35 for a soda or water, we have 1.25 bagels, .50 cookies, and the meals are usually between 2.50-3.50 depending on what you get, if it's with fries, etc.

Our caf food is revolting and unhealthy though... you think for a bunch of teenage girls they'd do better, but nooooo.... The boys' high school next door has a slushie machine, wings, etc. but are way more expensive.

we do the id card thing to shelby. there is no cash , except for the vending machines. i usually bring my lunch but if i forget to bring it i have lik 90 ucks on my card. but we ahve everything: hamburgers, cookies, pizza, tacos, salad bar, gatorade thing, soda machines, candy, chicekn parm, omg i love my schools lunch :D lunchtime is amazing hahhahahaha

for me i get lots of extra stuff you can order with out getting the main meal. The main meal is $3.50. It is usually meatballs and rice or pizza and salad,or something like that. it also comes with a white milk. i really like all the stuff they have!:D

My lunch yesterday cost close to 5 dallors

I got a Chicken Patty(no Topping because extra)
Fries
Bottled Water

Yah my school is sick and money hoggish. I only ate there because it was easy for that day. It is so expensive that no one was really in line for food.
