How much do you pay for health insurance?

I pay $0 for health, dental and short term disabilty for insurance through my employer for myself and my family. The cost to my employer is astronomical, though - over $1,700 per month!

My husband is self-employed and we pay $1800.00 a month for our health insurance. In December it is going up to $2041.00 per month. This is for a family plan with a $3000 deductible per year.

I always joke with my grown-up daughters that we don't have a mortgage but our health insurance is like one. We have United Health Care and it has been a God-send this last year.

In May my hubby had a heart attack,collapsed lung, and small intestine cancer. He was in the hospital for 4 weeks. Now he is receiving chemo every 2 weeks (to catch the cells that surgery did not). As of 3 weeks ago he is in remission. Cost so far---$400,000.00...Our insurancre has paid everything.

Our insurance company has been wonderful..They have even called and asked if we need anything else..I know I always hated paying it evey month but now I am thankful that I have it.

Congratulations on your husband being in remission. It is great to hear that the insurance company has been so great to you and him. That is wonderful to hear.
