How much do you pay for cut, color & highllights at salon?

Depends.

partial highlights runs $130 full $150

I don't mind paying, but I can't get the new girl to get the right color so after new years I am off to find someone new.

For hair color touch up, style and blow dry: $145. If I'm doing the color on all of my hair $200. I have a lot of hair.

I couldn't go to a chop shop. The girl that does my hair is really a color expert and it makes a huge difference. It's money well spent.

I just got mine done Wednesday. This time I got hi-lites and low lights. With a cut and tip my bill came to $160. I love my color!!

I don't yet have to color my hair, but for just a haircut my person charges $50. I think that's a lot, but I do like her. I had a perm this summer (which I hadn't had in ages) and that was $85 for just the perm--I didn't need a haircut.

$75 for highlights, cut, dry (not including tip)

Well i guess my daughter wins most overpriced award! 280.00!!! :confused3 that includs tip to stylist, shampoo girl, colorist (she has very, very long hair)!!!

She goes to Mario Tricocci and imo they are way overpriced. There are other salons in our area that do just as good if not better than them but she won't switch..sigh..what a waste of $$$

When I went to the "nice" place about 2 years ago, it was running me about $165. Now, I'm going to the "cheapy" place and it is costing me about $120. I'm not nearly as happy with these highlights though--they are too chunky and you can see roots right away. When I went to the expensive place, she did such fine strands that the grow-out was pretty much unnoticeable.

I do not have my ahir colored, but every single time I or any of my kids have gone to a chop shop, we have been very unhappy.

I just got my hair cut and colored and it was $65 with tip. I am thinking about doing highlights and that will be another $20. My SIL goes to NYC every year to have her hair done and she pays over $500 for a cut and color. There is no way I would pay that much for a haircut!

Wow - Thanks everyone. I guess I've been in the dark ages..... I haven't gone to a nice salon since I worked full time 10 years ago. Since then I've been hopping around and just never found anyone I really liked so settled at Master Cuts.

I will have to say I like my hair sooooo much better at this new salon so it's worth it but it was sticker shock for me. You should have seen my husband's face when I told him the price :faint: (especially when he heard the $151 didn't include tip - I don't think I'll tell him in the future)

She is not the winner. I had my 20th High School Reunion this summer and spent way too much for a makeover. It was worth every dollar when my classmates said I looked just like I did in High School. :)

I see one thing...I undercharge! But, I myself would hate to pay 150.00 for highlights so I won't be charging that anytime soon. I used to work in a high end salon and we were very expensive.

However, someone here said they don't go but 2 times a year because of the price and she doesn't feel good about spending so much on herself. I am sure she is worthit but I completely understand her thinking.

Therefore, I am of the thought that these are my clients (I've been doing hair 22 years) and they will be able to afford to look good! I'd rather make less and know my clients are taken care of. The majority know I'm giving them a lot of bang for their buck and truly appreciate it.

$140 for foil highlights (3 quarters of my head since I have a lot of hair), $50 ish for haircut, blow out is free with a haircut. A blow out alone is $25.
I get a blow out every weekend at one of these cheapy places - $10 for plain straight anf $12 with flips/curls

I love the lady who does my hair!!! I get all over color, highlights, lowlights, cut, style, and eyebrows waxed for $55. I guess there are some advantages to living in a small town. I always get lots of compliments on my hair too. There is no way I could spend over $100 for myself. Yikes.

I've done my own over the years for around $4, but now I have so much white hair (it's not even gray, it's pure white) that I have to color so much it dries out. In order not to have it dry out I have to go to the salon I get an all over color and cut for $120 every 2 months. I hate paying that, but the color is from Italy and it's the best color and my hair is so bouncy and healthy looking that I'm sticking with it. I go to a salon on Newbury Street in Boston and make a day of it while I'm there!

Are you paying or is she?! I bet she'd switch likethat if she was paying :rotfl: :teeth:

I can get a color, cut and do a 20% tip for under $50! Highlights -- I don't get them, but everyone thinks I do. My natural high color is very varigated and the color doesn't do exactly the same on evey strand -- looks like highlights.

I was really timid about coloring my hair and had my aunt, who works in a nice salon do it the first couple times. I took a ponytail from a haircut I had when I was in my teens, and she blended colors that match it so well that I could use the ponytail as a hairpiece. My hair person follows my aunt's instructions and it looks almost the same.

I can't imagine paying $200 to get my hair done. Yikes.
