Hi. Our trip is not until the end of May but I have been thinking about how much clothes I should pack for my 2 year old and 6 year old. Do you usually bring 1 outfit per day, 2 per day or ??? Would love to know what others use as their kids clothes packing guidelines? :)

I typically pack 1 outfit per day, 1 set of jammies, 1 nice going to eat outfit (button down ss shirt and khaki shorts), 2 extra sets of play clothes & socks, 1 swim suit and two pairs of shoes (sneakers and sandals) for DS5. You never know what they will get on themselves, but you don't need to overpack, either.

Well we dont leave until july and my kids are 10dd and 6ds and i will probably pack 2 sets of clothes per day each. Plus jeans and light jackets for dinner if its cold in the restaurants. A semi dress up outfit slacks for both and a nice shirt for dd and a button down for ds. I am an over packer because you just never know with kids. I will wash clothes while i'm there but if i dont they will have plenty.

HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :Pinkbounc

I agree one outfit per day, plus a couple extras just in case. 2 nice dinner outfits. pants and a jacket, 2 pairs or shoes. My DD always end up buying a new shirt they want to wear that week also. so I dont too over board.

When we went in December I packed one outfit for every day, two changes "just in case", two pairs of p.j.s, one bathing suit, and they had sweatshirt jackets. I had waayyy to much!

My kids picked out t-shirts the day we got there, and my son wanted to wear it again, and again, and just for something different, he wanted to wear it AGAIN. I did laundry while we were there (hadn't planned on that), but even if I hadn't, I had too many clothes!

We don't bring dressy clothes, I did the first time we went, and we never used them. So, I don't bother with them now - more room for souviners!

Good luck and have a great trip!

One thing I did that was very helpful for S8 and D5 was get the big size zip lock bag (3 gallon, I think) and pack all the clothes for a day for each child in their own bag. This way each morning all I had to do was take out one bag each and everything I needed was there. Coordinated Shirt, shorts, pants, socks and underwear. We went in Feb so I packed both pants and shorts due to uncertain temps. If you know the temps will be warm, just put a pair or 2 of jeans in seperate bag with light coat. Then bathing suit and jammies in another. This way there is no rummaging through the suitcase for items, everything stays neat and there is no problems. You can even push all the air out of the bags and seal to get more room in the suit case. The empty bags were great to put in backpack for the water park for wet items.

We didn't bring any fancy clothes either. Last thing my kids wanted to do after a long day at the parks was "get dressed up!"

Remember also, most if not all hotels have laundry facilities. PC is right next to the 60's pool. We only brought enough clothes for 5 days (10 day trip) and then threw clothes into wash and dry while using the pool and didn't have to take so much clothes and only took 15 minutes out of our trip. Both washer and dryers were $2/load. Saved a lot of space in the suitcase that was filled later with souvenirs.

I usually bring 1-2 outfits per day (inc underwear and socks) and 2 bathing suits. I try to bring 2 tops for every bottom since it seems the shirts get dirty faster. We drive so ## of luggage isn't as much a concern. After a day in the parks we go back to the hotel for a swim before dinner and the kids' clothes are always sweaty and dirty so we put on a new outfit ot at least a clean shirt for dinner/night out. I don't bring "dressy" clothes - mostly tshirts/shorts/capris. But 2 of my daughters do like to wear a sundress or skirt at night and I bring longer length bermuda shorts for DS to wear to dinner (as opposed to gym shorts) if we're going to one of the nicer restaurants (like CG or Narcoossee's). DH and I don't bring quite as much for ourselves (ok well maybe I do for myself). And I always bring 2 bathing suits because sometimes if I rinse and hang one it's not dry by the next day and IMO there is nothing worse than putting on an already wey bathing suit (I know it's going to get wet in the pool but nonethless...).

But no matter how hard I try, I always seem to overpack so my advice is probably not the best to take :lmao: .......

I use the ziploc bag method for packing and I swear by it. It makes my life so much easier. I pack everything in that bag outfit, underwear, socks and hair accessory. Mornings are so much easier when you're not fumbling for a bow to match, or looking for socks! We go in July (translate - hot a h***)
so I pack two outfits per day for the kids. We go back to the resort in ther afternoon for a swim/nap break. I also pack 4 bathing suits (we go for two weeks) 2 cover ups, a couple of pair of capri pants and light sweaters (for when air conditioning gets two much) 3 pair of pjs and tons of shoes (for dds). Ds isn't into shoes like his sisters so I pack for him 2 pairs of sneakers, and 2 pair of water shoes/flip flops. I ship some things down (princess dresses, light up spinners things, water/spray fan bottles, and tinkerbelle gifts). I still end up with way too many suitcases, according to DH, but try packing a family of 5 for two weeks and see how well you do, (LOL). Then I have one small bag filled with toiletries, sunscreen, sunglasses, medicines, etc.

I use the Ziplock bag method too! I put one entire outfit (excluding shoes) in a bag & then label the bag w/ the day (or event) it is to be worn. Some days might have two bags depending on what is planned for the day - like Monday might have a bag marked "Monday - MGM" & a bag marked "Monday - Dinner ('Ohana). So easy to get ready!!

I also dress the kids (and myself & DH) in coordinating shirts & shorts - For example, Monday is "red" day, Tuesday is "green" day, etc.

I'm an over-packer, so my packing list for the kids normally looks something like this - -

1 outfit for each day (shirt, shorts, underwear)
5 "extra" outfits (shirts & shorts)
3 extra t-shirts
1 pair of "comfy" knit pants to wear in the room
2 nicer outfits for dinner (or for however many times we have dinners planned - like at the resort restaurants)
1 pair of jeans
pullover sweatshirt (We so didn't need sweatshirts - but they were Disney!)
2 pairs of PJ's
3 swimsuits w/ matching T-shirts/cover-ups, pool sandles, & hats
lightweight sweater/sweatshirt
socks (they wore sandles, but I packed one pair of socks for each day)
extra underwear (one extra pair for each day)
sports sandles
dressier sandles for DD (for dinner)
tennis shoes

I packed their costumes & accessories for our princess meals (DD's Tinkerbell costume & DS's Peter Pan costume) in a separate bag.

They each had their own suitcase for their clothes. They each also had a bag containing their books, toys, stuffed animals, etc. All of our toiletries (including hair accessories for DD) went in one bag.

Various other things -

Their pillows
The stuffed animals & security blankets that didn't fit in their bags... ;)
A bag w/ the DVD's they watched in the car
Sunglasses
Small flashlights
Small water bottles
And anything else I think of that they might possibly need... Drives DH crazy! :teeth:
