Hi I know this is really daft, but being my first time to Disney, how many clothes etc should I take? Do I really need to worry about being cold and take things just in case. I am going for 17 nights next June. I don't want to overpack I am planning on doing some shopping over there and don't want to be struggling to fit it all in on the way back.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you. x x

wrong person to ask me i always pack so much we bring stuff home unworn

lol:rotfl:

Hi, the first time we went to disney i took way too many clothes! i ended up wearing about half of what i took. june will be pretty warm so dont worry about heavy clothes, it may rain so there is that to consider but even when its raining its hot!
i now just take about 5 pairs of shorts and a supply of plain vest tops as i find that this is all i wear during the day. for nights, a few skirts/trousers etc but nothing really dressy. depending where you are staying you will always have the option of washing if you do run out which i have never found a problem. :)

we are set to leave in 22 days :)

Def don't take any warm clothes! The clothes Wen-tom suggested sounds about right. :goodvibes

it will be hot when you're there (to give you an idea, it's in the 90's this week in orlando)..

the only warm item i bring is something to put on when i'm inside because the air conditioning is soooooooooooooo cold for me...
other than that, there is no need for anything warm....
and you don't even have to bring that...you could always buy something there...a souvenir sweatshirt to wear...

as far as rain, we always buy the WDW rain ponchos in the park when it rains the first time we're there...

I always end up doing some washing when I'm there, it's so easy and we swim whilst it's washing and drying :thumbsup2

I always go in August and always take 1 jumper but that's mainly for the flight :lmao:

You really don't need any smart clothes unless you're going to one of the fine dining restaurants, everywhere else are fine with shorts and t-shirts.

Also we never take beach towels as we stay in a moderate they provide pool towels :thumbsup2

We've only ever been in August and I never take enough. I end up washing at least twice during a trip. I always forget that I'll want to change during the day as it's so hot and sticky at that time of year.

I'll never been seen in shorts so I take mainly skirts, and wide linen trousers. I always take a mixture of skirts so there are some that can be dressed up with smarter tops and a cardi for nicer restaurants. I also have a couple of faves to wear that can be washed, hung up and don't need ironing :thumbsup2 I tend to wear a "broken-in" pair of birkenstocks and croc cleos that hardly leave my feet the whole time, this makes packing lighter too.

Goodness me, my post makes me sound about 60! Skirts and cardi! or a right old slone.......now, where did I leave my Mallorcan pearls.....?!?!?

I'm the same! I'm the only person I know who drags a cardy to all the parks, to put on whenever I'm indoors!!! :rotfl:

They had really cheap disney ponchos in Walmart last month, if you have chance to get there! :thumbsup2

Pay for extra baggage allowance and then hit all the outlet malls when you are there.

for 14 days I take the following

T Shirts - 12

Button shirts with short sleaves- 3

Shorts- 4

Trousers- 1

kecks - 14

Flip flops- 1 pair

Sandals -1 pair

Swimming shorts - 2 pairs

Socks - 3 pairs

Thin fleece- 1

Rain Poncho -1

Lightweight rucksack a bumbag

My Mrs has a very similar allowance but takes an additional 2 lighweight summer dresses

Seriously, if you want anything more, go to Orlando Premium Outlets, Lake Buena Vista Outlets, The Florida Mall or any Wallmart

For my last trip, three weeks in July 07, the contents of my suitcase were roughly:

2 x skechers trainers :thumbsup2

10 x skirts (i dont wear shorts)

2 x swimsuits

3 x tankinis

1 x swimskirt

2 x flip flops

3 x sliders

1 x water shoes....saved my feet from the rough floor at typhoon lagoon's wave pool! :worship:

15ish pairs x trainer socks
15ish pairs x underwear

1 x wide legged linen white trousers  i :lovestruc these

10+ x camisoles

2 x halternecks...to try to get rid of the strap lines from wearing a camisole the day before ;)

1 x cap-sleeved shrug...the ones that tie at the front....great light item to wear at night, to cover your shoulders if it gets a bit drafty ::yes::

2 x sunglasses...i always manage to break or lose a pair at some point

1 x wdw poncho...though we normally forget to take them to the parks with us, and end up buying another set :(

2 x caps...not dark as they tend to absorb the heat more than lighter colours :thumbsup2

for travelling i tend to wear a knee length linen skirt, a camisole, pair of 'leisure shoes' and then a light fleece, hoodie type thing to survive the air con on the plane...i dont use it the rest of the holiday, until the flight back :)

i took a lot...more than i probably needed but i always tend to 'overpack' (according to my family) but i manage to wear more or less everything at least once! we tend to do washing every other day or so, to keep things nice and fresh, but we also buy a lot out there....last time, we bought ten pairs of trainers between us! our luggage allowance is 2 pieces x 23kg each per person, so we tend to take one suitcase full each out there, and buy another suitcase, or take two suitcases and half fill them...plenty of room on the way back!

:yay:

I always seem to take to much and come back with half of it unworn. :confused3

I always pack one medium suitcase inside a large one, then pack my clothes into the smaller one so that when we get there we have a large empty case each to bring back all the stuff we buy.

I also agree we one of the above responses that you really don't need to take many evening outfits as you can go in most of the restaurants in casual attire. For two weeks I would probably only take 2 trousers/skirt & 3 or 4 tops for the evenings.

next trip we are doing $180 a day for two adults and an infant staying in a villa, we are not doing the parks though!

this money is to eat, fuel car and shop (and the people on here know how much I can shop)

We always wash so can cut down a bit - but my DH always puts extras in 'just in case!!'.

He always has a 'heavy' sticker on his suitcase coming home too :rolleyes1

Good job me & DD can manage - this year I am taking an extra suitcase for him.
