Wow, you need to send ME some of those for my tree!!! ::yes::

So we left the MK and Disney World around 3 and started our drive to Marco. At first, we had beautiful weather for the drive:

Then we hit this:

Day6andArrivalinMarcoSeptember212012306.jpg
That is just crazy intense rain...... :scared:

We could hardly see in front of us and had to eventually pull over for 15 minutes.

We finally reached Naples and stopped at Waffle House for dinner:

My meal:

I'm with you on the omelette!!! And LOVE the occasional breakfast for dinner idea....... :thumbsup2

I will do responses later...wanted to get another update in before I left the office.

I promised some pictures of the condo we stay at:

Day6andArrivalinMarcoSeptember212012321.jpg
The condo looks really nice and a great continuation of your trip after leaving Disney! Glad to see you two finally got that room!!! :rolleyes2 ;)

Pictures I took from the balcony while Mark was in the shower:

Day7September22001.jpg

I could get used to waking up to that view every day. :goodvibes
And a place for "coffee on the verandah???" :rotfl2:

It IS a nice view!!!

We went to the Grand China Buffet (I'm not sure that is the exact name of it) where they have all you can eat crab legs on Saturday night, along with the regular Chinese food offerings.
:woohoo: for crab legs!!!

Sunday we slept in a little and then took a ride to Starbucks for coffee for the two of us. We sat and enjoyed the beautiful morning and talked about our plans for the rest of the week.

We went back to the condo and changed into our suits and headed down to the pool. I decided to relax at the pool and not worry about the camera. We stayed at the pool until around 12:30 and then headed back up to the room. On the way, Mark did take a couple of photos.

After lunch, Mark went back down to the pool and I did a little laundry and then took a shower before Mark came up. When he came back and took his shower, I did a little DIS time and then it was time to go and meet Todd and Nicki for dinner. We were going somewhere new to us this year:

Mark’s totally eaten dinner because I forgot to take a picture. This steak was huge and he ate the whole thing

I got no other pictures of dinner (yes, I know…bad DISer), but I did get desserts.

Todd and Nicki had to go to work the next day, so we made it an early evening. Mark and I drove back to the Island and I tried to take some pictures during the drive

I think we both hit the sack around 10:00 as we were tired and had another full day coming up

Those desserts look yummy!!!!

Your pictures of Marco Island are great. Love the heron and jellyfish shots. :goodvibes

Tommy Bahamas....I've got to remember that name. We are going down at the end of January to have lunch with my boss. We always stay in Cape Coral, but often go down to visit with him on Marco. I can't remember the name of the place we usually eat, but those desserts look much better!

Today was BEACH day!!!

We drove to Starbucks (yes, Andy, Mark, Tim and anyone else who wants to chime in, we went AGAIN) as I can't start my day without my coffee.

We then drove to the parking area for the beach, parked the car, hit the restroom (as there are none on the beach) and walked the two blocks to the beach. And this is what we saw:

Day9September242012001.jpg

Day9September242012003.jpg

It was a beautiful day to be at the beach. We set up our chairs, took off our bathing cover ups, put on our water shoes (those seashells are rough on the feet) and started walking the beach to collect seashells to add to my collection at home and to give some to Alisha who has a seashell themed bathroom like her future mother-in-law. :goodvibes

We had a visit from a friend or two:

We hung at the beach until around 12:00 and then went back to the condo for lunch.

After lunch, we headed back to an empty pool once again (love this time of year...there is no one at the pool but Mark and I with an occasional visit from one lady who visits every year).

I found a friend as I was walking back to our building to get ready for dinner that evening:

Day9September242012040.jpg

We were meeting Nicki and Todd at the Sand Bar, the Marco Island sports bar. In ALL of the years that Nicki and Todd have lived in Naples and Nicki has worked on the Island, Todd had NEVER been to the Sand Bar. :confused3:confused3

It's a great little spot, a hangout for the locals, with lots of televisions and good food (well, except for Todd's meal).

My patty melt:

Nicki's some kind of salad:

Day9September242012044.jpg

Todd's pizza--and absolutely horrible (think Domino's...only worse):

He would have been better off sticking with just this for his dinner:

Mark's dinner (I don't remember what kind of sandwich he got...Monte Cristo, maybe):

It was another perfect day in paradise--the ocean, the pool and dinner with our best friends.

Up next, we take a drive to find some seashells in Ft. Myers

One of those houses across the road used to be Shaina Twain's and one is now a US Senator's.

WOW!!

I can't wait to see the decorations.

If I could buckle down for a TR update...I have a pic for the girls by the WL tree. My DD Kate found a comfy chair by the tree and sat and ate her Gingerbread cookie we got from CR :lovestruc

Those desserts Kathy :worship: look delicious!!!!

I figured I better get caught up again if you are planning two or three more updates today.........

Good idea...I just added two updates.

Wow, you need to send ME some of those for my tree!!! ::yes::

Now if I did that, Mark would definitely have to let me buy more.

That is just crazy intense rain...... :scared:

It was pretty scary driving in it...even Mark was uncomfortable.

I'm with you on the omelette!!! And LOVE the occasional breakfast for dinner idea....... :thumbsup2

I'll order omelettes other places, but they just are NOT the same.

The condo looks really nice and a great continuation of your trip after leaving Disney! Glad to see you two finally got that room!!! :rolleyes2 ;)

Yes, Marv, we FINALLY got a room. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

And a place for "coffee on the verandah???" :rotfl2:

Oh you are on top of your game today, aren't you?

It IS a nice view!!!

A lovely view for sure.

:woohoo: for crab legs!!!

Like Starbucks, you can never have enough crab legs. :)

Those desserts look yummy!!!!

Your pictures of Marco Island are great. Love the heron and jellyfish shots. :goodvibes

Both desserts were very yummy; although Mark ended up not "feeling well" later in the night but he was sure that it was the huge steak he ate and the entire dessert...too much food in one sitting for him.

Thank you; Marco is so beautiful and so much wildlife to caputre.

Tommy Bahamas....I've got to remember that name. We are going down at the end of January to have lunch with my boss. We always stay in Cape Coral, but often go down to visit with him on Marco. I can't remember the name of the place we usually eat, but those desserts look much better!

Hi, Suzi; I hope you are feeling better soon.

Tommy Bahamas is in Naples; the desserts were outstanding. And the food was very good too. Although I forgot to take dinner pictures, I had the ribs and they were out of this world (Todd's recommendation to me and he was right on!).

I can't wait to see a pic of your adorable girls by the tree at the WL.

They were yummy. :goodvibes

Don't you just love the Gulf Beaches? They are truly the most beautiful I have ever seen. :goodvibes

Too bad Todd's pizza was bad :(

so happy you had some great weather to enjoy the beautiful beach! your photos of the flowers are so pretty! wow that looks like it was a big steak, desserts look yummy!

Awww, I love the picture of Mark and Nicki! Not that I don't love the one of you and Todd.

The beach looks absolutely beautiful and not very crowded either. :thumbsup2

I don't mind the rain, but not like that.

I get real nervous in rain like that. If I am the one driving I just stay focused until I can get out of it and if I am NOT the one driving I just try to distract myself and not look. :lmao:

Now for the updates.
A little slice of heaven to be able to hit the pool and the beach and just relax.
The food looks incredible, so hungry right now.
eveything looks great ( well except for Todd's Pizza) and my dessert would have been that Key lime pie I spied. MMMMMMM

What the HECK was Todd drinking ?!?!?!?! Looks like a beer full of pickles.

I can't wait to see a pic of your adorable girls by the tree at the WL.

For you

Kate was in the chair to the left...she wouldn't partake in the pic, WAY to happy with her cookie and the view :santa:

You mean there is worse pizza than Domino's? Is that possible?

OK - I am pictureless, but just chiming in that you San Marco days sound wonderful and I can't wait to see your beach pictures. I love how September is just so dead everywhere. Nothing like having a whole pool to yourself!

My drink….which was really yummy.

Day8September232012027.jpg
I see you've been hanging around Pat too much..........going for your own Tumble Monkey!!! :rotfl2:

Nicki’s salad

Day8September232012029.jpg
I sincerely hope she had already eaten some....... :confused3

I got no other pictures of dinner (yes, I know…bad DISer), but I did get desserts.

Hey, you can't go wrong with dessert pictures! I see about, uh, six things that look really good there...........

The young couple:

The old couple:

Day8September232012040.jpg
Okay, so where are the pictures of the "borrowed" couple and the "blue" couple???

Great pictures of everyone! You guys always look like you're having the greatest of times when you are all together! Maybe one day I can join in and ruin it for you...........:lmao:

Oh wait, would that be a Starbucks cup I see? When did you start going THERE???? :stir:

Appropriate.....................

after all that food that is how fast I would have been moving!!! :rolleyes1

We drove to Starbucks (yes, Andy, Mark, Tim and anyone else who wants to chime in, we went AGAIN) as I can't start my day without my coffee.
Like anyone around here would pile on..................

We then drove to the parking area for the beach, parked the car, hit the restroom (as there are none on the beach) and walked the two blocks to the beach. And this is what we saw:

Day9September242012001.jpg
Oh great........how did you EVER find a spot to claim as your own.......??? :worried:

It was a beautiful day to be at the beach. We set up our chairs, took off our bathing cover ups, put on our water shoes (those seashells are rough on the feet) and started walking the beach to collect seashells to add to my collection at home and to give some to Alisha who has a seashell themed bathroom like her future mother-in-law.
Somehow I'm guessing she will have a Disney themed Christmas tree one day too!!!

After lunch, we headed back to an empty pool once again (love this time of year...there is no one at the pool but Mark and I with an occasional visit from one lady who visits every year).
Nothing better than having your own "fairly" private ocean and pool in the same day!!! :goodvibes

Floral around the pool area:
Some great pictures of the local vegetation! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Me and Sis:

Day9September242012049.jpg
I see the family resemblance..........

Wow, you need to send ME some of those for my tree!!!

Now if I did that, Mark would definitely have to let me buy more.
Happy to help wherever I can...........

Like Starbucks, you can never have enough crab legs. :)
Well, I don't know about Starbucks, but I can usually get my fill of crab legs......
