If there is something special the kids want.. then they can earn towards it with extra chores they don't normally do. Most things though are just sort of expected. You are responsible for your own mess, and helping out with the common areas in this family.I don't say much about what she does with it, unless she wants something I don't think she needs (like another lipgloss when she has 10 of them).
I agree with this.....tho the reason we decided on an allowance system (they get it monthly and manage it) was b/c we didn't want to argue little things like who needs what with money we were going to share anyway...KWIM?
kind of like we figured the kids would want some junk during the week,we'd discuss it,etc etc etc or...just give them the small set amount, and let them figure out if they wanted to spend it or save it. It's funny, give a 3 year old 3.00 instead of just buying a toy,and see the look on their face when they realize it's up to them, how much do they REALLY want that toy,now that the money is in their hands to do with what they please?

what started to happen with our kids, was 80% of the time they decided to wait and save.
