Hi hope i am in the right place? this is my first post on this board :flower3:
We are going to disneyland paris in june starting small waiting for the kids to get a bit bigger! we would love to go to florida can you tell me roughly how much we are going to have to save in total for 2 adults & 2 children ?? i'm sure it will become clear as i get into the boards but a rough minimum probably in a villa ??? thanks for answering a endless question :rotfl:

Its very difficult to give a price as there are so many different ways of doing a trip to Florida.
First option is DIY or package, package is easier but usually more expensive in school hols(I am guessing schol hols) I priced up our next holiday on Virgin holidays and they wanted £12,000 for 3 adults, I am doing it myself using some of my airmiles for under £4,500.
Flights can vary from under £300pp last minute (not really what you want to do) to £800+ in the summer holiday.
Indirect flights can save money but you have to change planes, easy once you have done it but most first timers want direct.
Can't help a great deal with villas, not our kind of holiday, tried it and didn't enjoy it, we prefer a hotel. Hotels cost from around £30/nt offsite. Onsite far more expensive but most of the year includes free dining, this August we are paying £118/nt which includes food for upto 4 people (park tix & meal tips ontop) next year this will be £130-140/nt for same deal (either Old Key West or Saratoga Springs resorts)

If you know rough dates you want to go then goto Virgin holidays website and search this year or next to get an idea what prices they are asking, it only takes a few minutes to get a quote.

Welcome! :goodvibes

Agree time of year (school hols or not) makes a big difference as does whether you prefer a package or are happy to DIY.

Things you need to think about

Flights - do you want to fly direct eg Virgin or are you willing to change (latter usually cheaper)

Accomodation - onsite at disney or offsite villa/hotel/condo.

Car hire and insurance - do you want to hire a car?

Tickets - do you just want disney or other parks aswell.

Food - disney onsite offer free dining for large parts of the year to Uk guests. So you may look at the disney price and think how much  but once it includes food it is attractive. If not you need to factor in food cost and tips.

How long - 2 weeks or longer. Alot opt for longer due to flight prices.

Bits and bobs - car parking at airport, airport hotel, travel insurance, ESTA, passports for all, car parking at disney if staying offsite $14 a day - it all adds up.

Happy planning

to guage a cost I would go on the Virgin Hol site or call them and do a dummy booking. Factor in all what the pp have said ie villa, off site, on site, tickets (these bump the cost up far more then you think when there are four of you),car hire or transfers, free dining or not, etc and then know that you will be able to do it for less if you DIY..and often for a lot less!

Ask the board as many questions as you like because this way you will find a way to really get the holiday that you want for a lot cheaper then walking into a travel agents, who, unless they specialise in Florida are clueless.:)

I just broke my holiday down and it was roughly £1350 per person. That included:
flights
OKW 1 bed
Free DDP
14 day Ultimates
Insurance
Hotel at airport
ESTAS
Photopass/photobook
All tips

I will be adding MNSSHP, MVMCP AND BBB to this, so it will be slightly more. I am happy to pay this price as it includes EVERYTHING apart from a little bit of spending money.

Hi there and welcome!
We are going to Florida for the first time this October. We have 9 nights at OKW including DP, 14 day tickets, 8 nights in a villa, car hire, 2 day Seaworld tickets and we have paid about £5000 for 3 adults (DD is 13 so classed as an adult) and 1 child. Same with Joolz, we are still to pay for MNSSHP and BBB. By the time you add on spending money it adds up but going to be more than worth it!!
Happy Planning

My very rough estimates being a villa person is as follows

5-800 per person for flights
1000 for a fortnight in a good villa (there are cheaper but there is normally a compromise involved)
300 for a family car
250 per person for Disney tickets or 400 per person for all major tickets.

Food and spends are the hardest to estimate not knowing your tastes. With a villa you could actually eat very cheaply but only you know if you'd do that.

Happy to help if you have more specific dates/ideas in mind, we're a 2+2 school hols in a villa type family too.
