For those of you who missed my PTR a little back ground information...
I work at Comic Book conventions. I had to go to Orlando for work, the first convention of my Convention season. I decided to try to squeeze in a little Disney if I could and I had my first official DIS meet!! :)
So I am back and here it is....HOW MUCH DISNEY COULD I FIT INTO A NON DISNEY TRIP

My Day one –The Flight in
I worked Wednesday until 4pm then raced over to the airport. Normally I can fit everything I need into one suitcase but as this was a work trip and I was bringing some items for work, I had two Large suitcases full of Company give aways , plus a carry on, plus my laptop….AAAGGGHHH how do you people with kids do this all the time?:scared1: Trying to lug all this to check in was not the most fun I have ever had.
Got checked in only to find my flight on time:thumbsup2- I am getting excited as my plan is to get my rental car and rush over to DTD and have a Sandwich at EOS. My flight was to take off at 5:50 and land at 9:55 and it did!! :woohoo: Sat next to some golfers on the way down, the flight went by fast. We landed on time!!:wizard:
I was excited, I knew I would be pushing it but should have no problem making it over to DTD… Got to Baggage claim and right as I arrived the belt started, WHOO HOO:yay:….one of my two bags was third or fourth off the belt :woohoo:and then I waited and waited and waited:eek:…just as I was starting to panic:scared1:, ok so manybe I was already panicing as it was the suitcase with the give away stuff - my last piece of luggage came out….That’s right my suitcase was the LAST piece of luggage off the belt but it was there, whew:rolleyes:… So I leave Baggage claim with all of my luggage balanced and hooked together and feeling like I was coming for a month and not 5 days; only to realize that ALAMO is one floor down and the EXACT opposite end:rotfl:…no problem except it was after 11:00 by now so no DTD for me:sad1:….Picked up car, checked in and was in bed by Midnight as I had to set up the booth the next day and figured I would hit EOS Thursday for dinner. Did I make it? Did I get to find out if EOS sandwiches are Awesome? Tune in for day two to find out…and Thanks for reading this!!!
Day 1=ZERO Disney :(

I'm here & subscribing!!! popcorn:: I am with you- I hate traveling with a bunch of luggage- but I still ALWAYS overpack. It's a sickness. :rotfl:

Day 2- Bad news/Good news
For those of you willing to stay off property- the Four Points Sheraton was not a bad place to stay.
Woke up Thursday morning at 7am to get a walk/jog in before my day started, I was supposed to be at the Convention Center at 9:00am for work, and meeting two of my employees for breakfast at 8:00am.

For those of you who are in the know and for those of you who are not- I was inspired by Carissasboys here on the Dis to start the Couch to 5K jogging program- I am on week one and I thought it would be great to exercise in the good weather that is Orlando (especially after walking in slush and ice in New York). So I did it! I got up and did Week 1 Day 2 and Carissa if you make it over here to read this-THANK YOU for the inspiration!:worship: The weather was perfect for it and there are sidewalks up and down International Dr that makes it so much easier:woohoo:!
I got back to the hotel and went to shower, noticed my cell phone was going off and the message was- The trailer, with all of the merchandise for the show, tire had caught fire:scared1:. I called my boss, the good news is everyone was ok:flower3: and no damage had been done-they did have to use the fire extinguisher to put it out, the bad news was that instead of rolling in at 9:00am, it looked like they would be rolling it at 2-3ish:eek:. I called the two employees that were already in Orlando and took them to the Blank Angus for the 3.99 Breakfast Buffet. The buffet was good for 3.99, you got eggs to order, toast to order plus they made you French toast to order if you wanted it…we pigged out. Aideen and I had coffee and Brandon just had water, out total was 15.00 plus tip and the food was good, if anyone is ever looking for a cheap buffet I recommend this one. It came up during breakfast that Brandon had never been to Disney World:earseek:. We were done eating by 9:30ish, as we were walking out my phone rang again-another tire had caught fire and the RV and trailer were now pushed back until 5:30-6:00ish!:worried:-for those interested-it turned out that the Grease around the bearings was packed wrong on the brand new axle:rolleyes:-
I called all the local help to let them know to not come to the Convention Center until 5:30, and then Brandon, Aideen and I drove over to:car:… The Polynesian…we knew we didn’t have time to actually go to a park but we did decide to do the Hotel Monorail tour.
Parked at the Poly, grabbed a cup of coffee from Kona’s:cloud9: and gave them the Poly tour…it is such a beautiful hotel and I could see the Castle:lovestruc-I couldn’t stop smiling:tinker:! After showing them the Poly, we jumped on the monorail and headed over to GF…got off at GF and gave them the tour of GF, we walked all around, Aideen was impressed by how clean the bathroom’s at the GF:thumbsup2, that made me think of Jordan’s bathroom rating:goodvibes. We headed over to the Contemporary and of course did the tour…Aideen again used the ladies room and I am sad :guilty:to report said it was not very clean HOWEVER as she was walking out a cleaning person was walking in:rotfl:….We then jumped back on the monorail and proceeded back to the Poly…where we went to Capt Cook’s and had you guessed it DOLE WHIP:woohoo:…Dole whip is my addiction:worship:, I am not a big drinker, I don’t smoke and I don’t do drugs but I do Dole Whip… I had been telling Brandon and Aideen about it all morning and if I had not been so full from breakfast I probably would have had some with my coffee:rolleyes1… B & A were not so sure about it and decided to split one- after they both tried it they ended up splitting two:lmao:.
Unfortunately we decided to head back to the hotel. It was three by now and I wanted to be back near the Convention Center in case the RV rolled in early. Back at the hotel-I decided to lay down for a few minutes knowing it is going to be a long night:idea:…my phone rang again at 4:30- the good news no tires were on fire:banana:, the bad news they were in traffic that was at a dead stop:mad:…they were getting off the interstate and coming down back roads and according to the GPS would be at the convention center at 7:00…
I still got to the convention center at 5:30-talked to show management who with Security was willing to let us stay late to build our booth, so good news. The RV rolled in at 7:30pm:confused:. We unloaded and started building,-we build a 20ft x 40ft mobile store and as soon as I figure out Photobucket, I will post pics- we stayed until 2:30am::yes::, I was asleep by 3:00am and back at the Convention Center at 7:30am…But that is Day 3 stay tuned to see …Did we get the booth built in time? Did I fall asleep standing up? And Did I get any Disney worked into Day 3?And most importantly did I make my Dis Meet with GaRain or did I fall asleep?
Day2-Got some Disney and a Dole whip, and a jog…

I almost felt guilty eating it, knowing the rest of the gang were having so many problems making the trip down but not enough to not eat it :rotfl: And I think the sugar helped me stay awake later-well that's my story and I'm sticking to it :rolleyes1

A Non Disney TR! I love it! Great idea to do the tours while you waited. I can't wait to try a Dole Whip!

Ok, I have suscirbed to see if you made you DIS meet....I am in suspense!! :lmao::rotfl2:

Ohh....tire fires are always a good way to start a trip! Can't wait to hear more.:thumbsup2
I almost fell out of my chair when he told me, but we were so LUCKY no one was hurt and no damage was done!!! And then when it happened the 2nd time, I didn't know rather to laugh or cry

A Non Disney TR! I love it! Great idea to do the tours while you waited. I can't wait to try a Dole Whip!
ESP.since Brandon had never been on Disney property...he LOVED it, and of course I loved Dole Whip!!!:love:If you are in MK, you need to try a Dole Whip float, I love them with just Pineapple soft serve but some get them with Pineapple and vanilla swirl soft serve...it is made with pineapple juice and on a hot day there is NOTHING better, who am I kidding on any day when you are tired and ready for a break they are refreshing...not so good if you don't like pineapple though:lmao:

Excited to read your report! :) popcorn::
thank you and and I'm excited to have ya here!!:goodvibes

Mmmmmm....Dole Whip.
Dole whip makes my heart sing :yay:

Nothing like a multiple Dole Whip report.....where is a Dole Whip smiley when you need one?popcorn::

It was a nice way to do Disney with out paying to get into the park and it put me in that Disney frame of mind-my happy place which as you can tell I needed later!

And I see you are a D23 Charter me to, I just reupped and got my cal!

Wow exciting start! Glad you worked some Disney in. Hope your luck gets better on day 3.
