How much discounting with "the codes" happen during off season?

Exactly how much should I expect to pay for hotels once they finally put these codes up and when do they go into effect? We are planning our trip October 16th through October 22 and my hubby has me on a tight budget this time . I'm trying to decide if I should wait on the codes or try to book at a downtown disney hotel on priceline. I heard you can get their rates at about $30 - $40 a night. If we get a great hotel at downtown disney for that rate I think I'd be just as happy as having something like the budget hotels at the world. Any Suggestions?

There are no guarantees codes will come out so if you are definately going and can't pay more than $40 a night I'd book off-property. The email rates are at the lowest $49 a night right now and they are the same as the September codes.

Before bidding on priceline make sure to review these two sites: biddingfortravel.com and betterbidding.com. You can win bids for a 3* hotel in the DTD area in the price range but there are several other hotels that may also accept in the same category that aren't in the DTD area but may be a few blocks or a mile further up the road.

As for discount codes, if Disney will ever release them, values usually end up around $60 a night in offseason. Do you have a AAA card, you may want to inquire what the discount would be for value hotel?

Your timeframe (Oct) is regular season, so the rates most likely will not be as low as during "value" season (Sept....). I think around $60 a night would be a fair guess for one of Disney's Value resorts. But, as always, there are no guarantee that the resort you want will be available for your timeframe. It pays to be flexible and ready to pounce on any deal when it's released.
