if you don't mind me asking? and what type of wedding did you have?

yeah im nosey.

My bill to Disney was just under $6000.

We had an intimate wedding with 18 guests at SBP, 2 extra bottles of champagne & 1 non-alcoholic bottle, water & sodas.
The MK & EPCOT bridal portrait photos.
Dessert party for 20 with Old World Miniatures & Chocolate fondue add on.
1 BM bouquet, 2 mother's corsages, 4 boutonnieres, 1 Mickey bag, 1 cake & knife server set' 1 bouquet refresh.

I have not talleyed all of our final receipts because I'm afraid to! I think we spent around $10,000 when all was said and done. That includes dress, shoes, tux, welcome bags, hotel, etc...

Overall I think we got a deal!

We need more responses to this thread!! I just put a call in to get the ball rolling on my Disney Wedding. I'm going to do a weekday morning ceremony with a lunch reception and I'm hoping for a dessert party as well. We're looking at 40 guests. This mainly has to do with DFi's inability to cut down his friends list so that we can have an intimate or what's it called now, escape wedding. So, I would just like to see where people ended up with size and price. I'm not going for a lot of frills, so I think I'll be able to stay near the $10,000 minimum expediture. What do you all think? I know that all the small non-disney stuff will add up. So, I'm thinking total... $15,000. I guess I'm nosey too, because I'd really like to know how thing turned out money wise for everyone else.

I could give more specifics if I were I home in front of my oh-so-dorky spreadsheet, but we spent a little over $5k on the total wedding, including:

*the basic intimate package with an extra bottle of champagne and some bottles of Sprite (16 people total, including us)
*an outside photographer (Randy)
*the MK photo shoot
*the wedding luncheon/reception at Portobello's at DTD
*upgrade to a silk bouquet
*3 corsage-y things for the mother/grandmothers
*hair and makeup by Ana from makeovermajic.com (including trial)
*the non-Disney "stuff": my dress (really simple so really cheap), his suit, the favors, the centerpieces (again, really simple), etc.

We didn't have to pay for an officiant since it was our friend, but we took he and his girlfriend to the Hoop De Doo later that week, so it was probably about the same.

Once we added in the Disneymoon (the hotel stay, the dining, the tours, etc.), we were up to a total of around $7500, I think. So it's possible to get away with a Disney wedding without breaking the bank; you just have to opt for the really simple path!

Oh, we also "cheated" a bit on the honeymoon side because DH is a cast member so we saved almost $2k with the hotel, dining, and tour discounts he gets plus got into the parks for free. If we hadn't had that blessing, we would've clocked in at under $10k, I think.

Hope that helps!

UGH...where am I going wrong? I'm having an intimate and right now my estimated expediture is around $17000!! Mind you, that also includes our honeymoon but geez...I really need to get the cost down. I keep thinking how much I'd save if I were getting married at SBP instead of the WP and honeymooned at POR instead of GF. I'm a little freaked at the cost.

I think I can go really simple and inexpensive and it can still be really nice. I just wish I could do the escape instead of the wishes. But even with the wishes, I can keep it down, right??? :rolleyes1

I'm just so anxious being at the begining stages and not knowing anything yet.

we have 28 flying over with us and I'm hoping to stick to the min spend. I'm going to make sure we do as I do not want to spend loads but still want the disney magic that you can get.

It is good to know what everyone else spent though. There was a post before which had loads listed, it might be worth doing a search for it

We're doing a wishes with about 65 people (including the wedding party), at SBP.
I think right now, with photo, video, 1 character, a DJ, and minimal decor for the ballroom we are around 17k. We are still under budget, but we are concerned we won't get all 50 room nights booked and will end up paying for some of that! Our honeymoon will basically be free because we are DVC and APH. So rooms and admission is covered. I'm also renting my dress (unless I find one under $500), making my floral and centerpieces, and probably making my own invitations. I'm sure the "etc" items will bring us up to 20k.

I found my dress on ebay (brand new...it's being made right now in the color & size I specified) for under $400!!! :thumbsup2

Several brides have posted their room blocks here on the boards and people have helped to fill them. It's always an option!

I havent had my wedding yet and I dont have my BEO but I know what I expect to spend. I'm having a Thursday wedding with an evening reception for about 75 people. I am having dinner and a dessert party. I expect to spend no less than $25K-$30K on this event. Fees seem to add up quickly :)

Diane~~ you're awesome! :) I love you...no...I REALLY do lol
Princess~~ Thanks! I would have never thought of that. DF is also on the DVC boards here all the time, so he could probably do the same. I l-o-v-e these boards...all of you are SO helpful

I got the exact Mary's Bridal dress I saw in Bride's Mag at a Bridal shop in my hometown for $450.00. They had one and it was exactly my size.

I'm not positve what the final amount was, but my cousin who had her wedding there last year initially budgeted $60,000, but she told me she went over...not sure by how much though. But she pretty much had every crazy thing they offered, so that's why it got so high. I'm pretty sure my uncle is still paying for it all.

ocean godess!!!

i am selling my dress veil and tiara it is a size 12 and i am a street size 8 but it is form fitting. I am selling all of that for 400 and i will ship it are you interested????

sunshine~~
I just responded to your PM asking about size lol. looking foward to the email. no promises..but ill definately look :)

We are spending about $15,000 total (actually $11500 b/c DF parents gave us a gift of $1500 and are paying for reception dinner that is about $2000).

We are having an escape wedding with 18 guests (plus DF and I).

Here is our breakdown:

Disney Wedding Package at SBP - $2950.00
Landau Coach - $1700.00
Extra bubbly - $190.00
Gown / Jewelry / Misc Accessories / Tux - $1000.00
Steaming - $85.00
Makeup/Hair (for myself and sister) - $290
Officiant - $150.00
Floral - $1200.00 (4 bmaids/groomsmen/parents/ceremony decs)
Photography - $690 (Randy Chapman wedding & engagement shoot)
Invitations - $108.00
Wedding Bands - $850.00
Hotel / Park Tickets - $2400.00
Flight - $400.00
Sea World passes / tour / dinner w/ Shamu - $400.00
Wishes Cruise - $300.00
Victoria and Albert Dinner - $300.00

The rest was spent on gifts for the bridal party, toasting flutes... bouquet preservation, cake topper, stamps, favors and I bought my sisters dress/shoes and stuff for during the ceremony.

Plus we figured in about $1000 for spending money "just in case".

Hope that helps :) We went pretty heavy on the "extras"... so our actually costs includes EVERYTHING we are spending on this trip... not just what we are giving to disney. I think Disney is getting about $6500 for the wedding, and then the cost of the rooms/tickets and that's it.

Oh lordy! I think I am going to have an anxiety attack reading all these figures! I better start playing the lottery or I'm going to be in debt for the next 20 years!

Well I had a custom last year and the BEO came at $22k and I think I probably spent close to $40k in total. I know, shame on me!!! DH and I did pay for it all ourselves, actually I'm sure we are still paying for some of it.

We had 30 guests but did our best to give them a whirlwind of a day. In most cases we used Disney vendors (except photography) which was the cause of the excessive cost. I just did not have the time to coordinate vendors which was the reason I agreed to Disney to begin with. Granted, DH was ga-ga over the dessert party and just had to have one.
