I have decided after reading your posts on diy holidays this is the way to go, we want to book port orleans riverside on the disney uk site with free dining now for 8 august 2010, but i was wondering what prices to expect for the flights, me and dh have discussed this and because ds will be 16 and dd 14 going indirect would not be a problem. so what have you paid for this year, with who and when did you book.

thanks :flower3:

Direct from EMA 21 days return - Thomsons/First Choice £514 each

They do not advertise 21 nights but when i booked through Flydeals by telecon, I was able to do it! We go July return August 2009. I did book this when the flights first came out tho and i know this particular flight now is priced at over £700 for just 14 nights.

If you get Charter rather than waiting for schedule flights the earlier the better for the deals and ring the companies aswell as checking online as they don't always come up.

Kx

I paid £1500 for 2 adults and 1 child on Virgin going direct on 11th August. This was plus 2,000 virgin miles each so came under the Miles and Money fare. I booked around 15th November.
We are staying at Saratoga Springs in a 1 bed for 17 nights and if I remember rightly at the time we booked on the Disney UK site, Saratoga Springs and Old Key West were actually cheaper than the moderate resorts (if you stayed in a studio room) plus you got the normal dining plan rather than the counter service. They were doing a special of 42% off these 2 resorts so am hoping they will do the same this year. Have stayed at SSR before and really love it there. This deal came out in August last year.

I've read a post somewhere that there are cheap flights on expedia for August at the moment with continental. It will mean a short stop over in NY, but the prices were around 350.00. So you can either book early and then you know when you are going and for how much, or play the waiting game and the prices do come down, if they have flights left.

Wayne who is the expert of booking cheap flights, checks every day until he is happy with the price. August flights will usually be around 550.oo to 600.00 each with VH. Settle on a price you are happy with and then book it.

we will be there at the same time :D

our flights were about £566 this august they dont show next year yet that is with continental stopping at newark for 2 hours though no one does a direct flight from our nearest air port

This year paid £465pp for Business class Man~MCO via Atlanta. Lots of us got them end of last year.
Just priced up for friends this August 6th-20th with Continental from London via Houston economy £316pp They are just trying to decide if they are going or not, the price is tempting them.
Virgin have got too expensive for me in August unless I get a Flying club deal, last year got free flight going out 1st August using miles, year before got Miles and Money offer for £533pp. Full price has been crazy for our dates.

thanks everbody, thats a great price wayne :thumbsup2 know what you mean about virgin, booked a package for august 2008 with them free ddp, 14 nights at the cbr and 14 days ultimate tickets cost £3900 for the 4 or us, looked on their website for next year:scared1: not a chance. think we will book and hope to get a good flight price.

oh did'nt mention that we fly from manchester only 15-20 mins from the airport.

We paid £557 with Virgin direct from Manchester for 9th August. Used 2000 air miles each for the flights.

We paid £300 each from Manchester to Orlando via Atlanta, 20/8-3/9, after Wayne posted the bargain flight prices. We have also managed to get free dining at SSR (42% off), not bad when we we didn't even think we could afford to go untill next year. Always done package deals in the past & paid through the nose.

we have paid 1400, for 2 adults 2 kids, direct flight (virgin) 16th aug...thru opodo. booked xmas eve.

All info in this thread, don't read it all will take forever over 500 posts. Lots of us got them, I think it will have been a one off. http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=250334
Although 3 years ago I got economy flights in August for £300ish when everywhere else were selling for over £600. Pricing error on Netflights(airnet back then)
When looking for flights I spend 2-3 hours a day every day. Something turns up eventually.

HI all, I paid £475 each for 4 of us , 2 adults and 2 teens , flying direct witn virgin atlantic from man to mco departing 18th aug for 17 nights, booked with opodo, this was an x fair, one of the cheapest out there for direct!

We'll be on the flight with you if your going from Gatwick. Booked with Greenbee in Dec 2008, Continental operated by Virgin £498 per person, best price I've seen for direct in August.

That's because the flight was returning comes back after the kids have gone back to school. The prices usually drop around the 16/08, 17/08 or 18/08 depending when the bank holiday falls.
