I was going to say that also. We never use the overhead bins and put our duffels under the seat. I’m always perplexed when I see women put their purses in the overhead bin, why??

Have flown SWA over 12 flights this year thus far

The gate attendants have gotten tough on the count of carry on items, to point of deeming neck pillows a personal item

They also scan the overhead bins more frequently during boarding. fullish flights have seen them extract small book bags, purses & totes and loudly ask "whose bag". Generally, ends up placed under the seat.

As for pricing, the original price ($ or points) rarely is final price. Usually, some sort of price drop.

Flying down to MCO in October from ALB (NY). We paid with points but the cash price was $49 down (hit a one day sale) and $109 for the return flight. Both are nonstop flights. Not happy with the EBC price increase to $35 per person and decided to only buy it for the return flight as I know I wont remember to check in at exactly 24 hours when I'm on vacation.
