How Much Did u Spend This Holiday Season.

I guess we're lucky that my family only does kid's gifts amongst the extended family. For each child under 18 we spend $25-ish. Just a pogo stick, a few angry bird plushes, some bacon t-shirts, a few gift cards for the teens that want to pick out their own presents. Only 5 kids so budget was around $125, ended up spending $150-ish?

Also got DH a laptop on Cyber Monday but that was because he's been without his own comp for a long time and it was the right specs/price rather than it being a holiday present. Also picked up a few Disney DVDs that we didn't have for the collection for $10 at Costco for me and DS5, not really holiday related either just wanted them eventually and it was a great price. Oh and the $10 GC for DS5's teacher. So probably almost $200 if you exclude the computer ...

We have spent $400 so far. This includes gifts for our three kids, 1 gift for our parents, 1 gift for my sister & 1 for my brother-in-law.

We actually still need to buy another gift for our youngest & find a "special Christmas train" for our son (its the only thing he asked Santa for). So I figure that we'll spend another $50 and be done.

DH and I really do not buy much during the year so we don't really set a budget for Christmas.

I got him a snowblower on black friday and I have been shopping deals on some new shirts, dress pants, and shoes he needs

I spent about $500 on my parents and siblings

My DH asked me what I want and I told him a spontaneous trip to WDW to see the Christmas decorations. I'm not holding my breath  ( I can dream though, neither of us work the week between Christmas and New Years)

5 in total, 2 of which are employees that both received very generous gifts.. always take care of employees

That's awesome, especially considering the economy!

For the most part, your budget also has a lot to do with the number of people you buy for as well. The age of your kids makes a difference too. I remember when I could buy for my daughter easily on $200. But we spent probably $700 on her this year (a high priced bike was half that cost). I also bought clothes for her that I didn't buy when school started (she's 10). We've got 15 people to buy for so that's why we spent more.

Yes, this is probably the first year we haven't gone over budget!

Recently we sold some stuff on Ebay and came away with a decent amount. That's the money we used this year for Christmas gifts. :santa:

I'm not done shopping yet....still need some stocking stuffers, and 2 more gifts for my DH.

Come January it will feel good to not have over spent for Christmas. No debt to pay off! Our New Year will be off to a good start.
