Hi Everyone,

We're going to be doing a Illuminations cruise on our first night, but since we arrive in Orlando in the afternoon I was hoping to get a few things out of the way before we head over to the Yacht Club for the cruise.

This is for Oct. 1st. In our party is Myself, DH, DD (17) and DD (3). We need to be at the Yacht Club at 8pm. We will be grabbing something fast to eat for dinner while touring Epcot.

We're going to leave the AKL about 4pm (we hope ;) ) and I'm thinking we should get to Epcot at about 4:30pm.

I was thinking we might be able to cover a few rides between the main gate, where the bus will drop us off and the International Gateway, which we'll use to walk from Epcot to the Yacht Club (I hear this is about a 10 min. walk).

So we'll pretty much have between 4:30pm and 7:30pm to tour and eat.

Anyhow trying to figure out what we could maybe cover during this time. Or are we better off skipping Epcot altogether? We'll still have 2 more days at Epcot, but I'd like to knock some things off the list the first night, so we can take it slower the next few days and maybe extend our afternoon breaks a bit.

I know SSE is usually a walk on in the late afternoon, but I'm not sure of the other things between there and the International Gateway, we've always headed the other way.

Any suggestions for you Epcot experts?

Thanks so much!
Pammy

Epcot is normaly not as crowded at the other parks, so you should get to see a good amount of things.
There are not alot of rides at Epcot, like the other parks.
Test track, Melstroum, Cranium command, MS if it is open.........The rest are pretty much shows and the fun countrys and great places to eat.
Anyway I dont think you will have a problem getting to see alot in the amount of time you have. Just save the movies at the countrys for one of the other times you go. They do take up some time.
Hope this has helped.
Have a great trip.

You may want to try the boat ride at Mexico also....your younger DD will probably like that. Also, you said you were going to just eat a quick bite for dinner...on the boardwalk, Spoodles take out window has great pizza. :D

There is a good boat ride at Norway - Maelstrom

I am thinking though the park could be busier due to Mission Space being open (I have not tracked the days)

With 2 other days at Epcot you will be sure to cover everything

The stuff that should be slower:

Spaceship Earth
Living Seas
The Land
Figment/HISTA

TT and MS will probably be out of fastpasses

Maybe just stay on the west side of Epcot then tour WS ahead of the fireworks

You might find that you only need a full day at Epcot after that

Thanks

Thanks for the replies! That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. We've never done a park on the first day, just a nice dinner, but since we have a few hours to kill I wanted to try and knock some of the things off our list.

Here's what I was sort of toying around with, but I wasn't sure since the only thing we've done at Epcot (Future World section) in the late afternoon was SSE. So I really have no idea as to wait times in that section.

I was hoping to cover the west side of Future World.

SSE
Innoventions West - Just browse for a bit.
The Living Seas
The boat ride in The Land (will do the shows on another day).
The Figment Ride and maybe HISTA is time permits.

Then make our way toward Canada and UK. Will probably eat along the way, not sure where though. But we'll probably just snack a bit and then get something better to eat after the cruise. We love Spoodles, but have never had their pizza, so that's a great suggestion.

Thanks much!
Pammy
