How many different Christmassy things did you do this year? Was it more than normal, just normal, or less than normal?
We did more than normal. We watched more movies than ever before, we had more parties, we had more special Christmas events (we have a church in our home, so that offered many new oportunities as well), we ate more Christmas cookies and sweets, we listened to more music, and I spent a lot of time talking about Christmas on a certain Disney board.
So altogether I would say that we did more Christmas stuff than normal.

Much less for me. I was just too busy and stressed from work to worry with a lot of the details this year.
I didn't even put out my nativity (it's large and beautiful and this is the first year I haven't put it up). But my dd is in her early twenties, we have no other children/grandchildren around right now so decorating the house didn't seem like a huge priority to me.
I did spend the same amount of time with my family though, it was the christmas cookies, decorations, and stuff that fell to the side.

My DMIL's final gift to me was the knowledge that Christmas comes whether every single thing is done or not.

She passed away on December 9, 2001. We all cared for her in her home for the 3 months prior to that...24/7. That left much less time to get done what needed to get done for Christmas.

And it came anyway....

And the world went on, even though I had no time to bake cookies, and less time to fight the mall crowds. The time I had away from DMIL's side was precious (as was the time I had by her side), so I spent it doing the things most precious to me...spending time with friends, reflecting on the gift God gave us, doing the things that really mattered.

Every year at Christmas time, I thank DMIL for the her last gift. The gift of knowing that every Christmas may not be a "Hallmark" Christmas, but what we celebrate doesn;t change, no matter how we celebrate it.

Probably the most ever.
I actually bought gifts for my friends.
& gave candy canes to people I normally bicker with.
