How much cash should I bring?

I know this is tough question, but what have you done in the past? Since we are staying onsite, wouldn't it be best to charge it to our room and not have to worry about carrying a lot of cash around the parks?

We are also on the free dining plan so I don't think we will be spending too much on food. I have some snacks for in our room and plan to by the mugs at ASMo.

Our two girls also each have $100 in Disney Dollars. I don't plan on buying a ton of gifts.

What do you think, how much cash should I bring?

Just use your room key. We didnt know last year when we went that they used this for paying inside the park, and we brought cash. So we were keeping track of what cash we spent and then what we had charged to our room key. So if it is all on one that is much easier.

Have a great time :cool1: :cool1:

When we arrived at FW, we gave them cash to put toward our account. We didn't want to rack up our credit card bills, nor did we want to carry cash with us all day. This was a great way to do it. After a couple of days, we contacted the office, and they let us know how much we charged. It was an easy way to keep track of our money.

I believe that Disney now has gift cards that you can use, that way you won't have to worry about charging more than you should. As far as how much cash-that is tough. How many days are you staying? I would expect that 500 in cash would be enough for seven nights-thats figuring emergency cash.
Each day for each park,I wouldn't think you would need more than say 25.00-50.00.

We are staying for 7 days. $500 was just what I was thinking. Little things tend to add up. I was figuring about $25/day for extra food, drinks etc. Mugs at the resort. You know how it is, it all adds up!

Thanks,
Chris

There are ATM's at most of the Disney resorts and theme parks.

We charged most of our WDW vacation to the room but always carried money for the soda/ice cream/ popcorn vendors. My rule of thumb is that if it is less than $15, I will pay cash.

On any given day, we spent about $50 in cash. Most of this went to buying water and soda since August was so incredibly hot.

Although the soda/ ice cream/ popcorn vendors often take room cards, nothing is more irritating than standing in line behind the person charging $5.00 for two ice creams. It really takes a long time to do do those charges since the card readers are hard to read in sunlight, the printers are very slow and WDW does require signatures for such small orders. As an example, I had a family of about ten at the AK who made five seperate orders of about $5.00 each (each with a room card) that took about fifteen minutes to process. WIth cash, it may have taken two minutes. Since I know it irritates me to stand in such a line, I will not do that to other people.
