How much can we accomplish in 1 day?

Hopefully, we will be visiting DRP in mid-January 2007. We are still trying to plan our days. We have visited DRP in 1998 and I remember it being small in comparison to WDW (where we usually go). We weren't able to do much though because we had lost a day due to a missed flight. I'm not sure if Walt's Studio was there then or not. I know we didn't visit it. Basically what I need to know is how much can we see in 1 full day from opening to closing. Is it possible to get the major rides at both parks done? Also, how crowded are the parks in mid-January and what are so estimated wait times. I will be traveling with 4 other adults and we are comando types. We may be able to do a day and a half. How far are the parks from each other and how do we commute from each one. We are planning to stay at either Sequoia Lodge (where we satyed before and loved), Newport, or disneyland hotel.
Thanks.

The two parks are very close to each other - just a short walk from one to the other!! And no, you couldn't have visited the Studios - they didn't exist back in 1998.

If you visit during the week, then you'll have no problem getting everything you want done, and queues are practically non existent!! If you visit at the weekend it will be a different matter.

If you are determined to do both parks in one day then my suggestion is be at Disneyland Park for opening. Get all the major rides done. Collect FP's for later. Unlike WDW you can hold multiple FP's. Then head over to WDS and complete your assault course.
Then head back to Disneyland Park and catch parade and FP's

Whew :) then relax :goodvibes

Thanks! I was hoping to hear that it could be done. We have other days for Paris but are hoping to devote that time to a trip to Normandy, maybe Mont St. Michel, and a day at Versailles. If anyone has any private tour operator suggestions it would be greatly apprecaited. You can PM me. Maybe someone more familiar with the region can tell me if it is possible to do Mont. St. Michel and the American sites in Normandy in a day. We didn't visit any of the places listed on our first trip to Paris and are hoping to see them this time around. As far as DRP being the largest, I had no idea. It just seemed small to me compared to WDW Magic Kingdom. Maybe it's because there are more parks there. I'll never complain about a Disney park being too big! :) I know this sounds crazy but we are planning to stay on site at one of the resorts the entire trip and make that commute into Paris. We did it last time and loved it so maybe it will all work out for us this time. Thanks.

Yes you should get Mont ST Michel & the beaches done in one day but don't bank on the weather. Not sure I'd want to go to Mont SM when it was cold & wet & have you checked if shops, restaurants will be open out of season. Plus opening of the church if you intend to visit.

My parents go every year a couple of days to Normandy, just for the WWII-places. I think you can "see" Mont St-Michel and the beaches in 1 day, but if you want to "visit" them, it will take you some more time. Don't forget to calculate your travel time from/ to Normandy, especially if you want to make it a day trip from your "base" in Paris. Also, if you take an organized day-trip, keep in mind those take a lot of time for lunch, drop you off in stores where the organization gets a percentage, ...

Quite actually, if I only had 1 days at DLRP, I would skip the Studios. They have RnRCoaster, but they have that at WDW too, and I heard it's better themed over there. They have the Backlot Tram Tour, but... well... no comment :) It's nice if you have a lot of time. There is Armageddon; it was a big disappointment. Then there are the flying carpets over Agrabah, which is Dumbo in disguise, and they have it at WDW. Animagique and Cinémagique are nice, but you need quite some time for it.

The Disneyland Park is SO pretty and detailed, I would spend some more time in there doing the major attractions (don't forget Phantom Manor!!!) and taking in the details.
