We are Fort bond in just over a week. I seen a couple post on here saying we'll need 25 to 50 foot of coax. Is that right? My connection to the RV is at the rear. I've got about 20 feet of cable.Do I need to get more?
Coming down from Indiana. Our first trip to Disney and our first long trip with our rig.I am a bit apprehensive. I have a 1ton dually but not a diesel. I have the 6.0 gasser. Pulls fine on flat lands around home - Kentucky - Tennessee will be our real test. I have been all over rv net. Everyone has an opinion.I guess what I have learned is you'll know for sure after the trip.5th wheel probably weigh in around 9500lbs. We'll see.Any route advise from people who have recently made the trip from the midwest? My girls are EXCITED!! So are Mom & Dad : )

If your cable connection is near the rear of your rig, you should be OK. If not, there is a Wal-Mart not too far from WDW where you can get more cable, yes; this is the voice of experience. Don’t know what your route is but if you go through Nashville, I think your biggest hill (mountain) will be going up to Monteagle in TN. It is between Nashville and Chattanooga. Just don’t try to take it too fast, going up or down.

20' should be fine If it not don't buy one at the trading post there is the price there

You can go to Walmart or anyother store and save $10

I think you will be coming down I 65 to I 24 in Tennessee, Your truck will do fine. One real Mtn but no biggie less that 12 miles up and down and about 1000 climb.

That is our route. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Also - TV at the campsite may serve well to relax a couple little girls during our mid day breaks , I hope.

LOL, just make sure you have a "barrel" connector so you can join two cables together!

As others posted, Monteagle Mtn is the worst hill problem you will have just stay in the slow lane either way you and will do fine with your set up. I highly recommend going through Atlanta late at night or very early in the morning. Weekends can be no better than weekdays. Traffic is awful, the lanes are narrow, and people drive like they are on a race track.

Concur concerning Monteagle. Highly recommend you stop and cool your engine before going up the mountain and cool your brakes after you come off of it.

Part of my standard stock for the RV is 1 25' and 1 50'. at Disney I was good with the 25' given the jack is in the rear most roadside cabinet and their pedistal is central. I like having the local weather, and not every site can aquire a satalite. I leave the TV on for the dogs so they have white noise while I am gone.

If all goes to plan we should be getting thru Atlanta around midnight on a Tues. I have heard about Atlanta traffic. I don't think I can avoid it coming home (on a Friday). Have any of you taken 285 around the west side (north bound)? If that is better than going up the middle I would try it. You all have put a name to the monster now! I will be looking for Monteagle Mountain! Not looking forward to the drive but can't wait to be at the Fort!
