How much baggage would you expect . . .

For a six night trip at the beginning of February for me, DH, a five year old girl, and two year old twin girls?

I was aiming to pack in two large rolling suitcases. We'd check those plus two strollers. And carry on backpacks and/or large diaper bags with one change of clothes for each kid.

We won't be swimming. And I plan to ship diapers, wipes and snacks to the hotel. Staying at Poly.

Well everyone is different in how much they bring with them. For our family we generally bring more luggage than we need because we bring so much stuff back. On our 1 and 2 week trips to Florida including me, dh dd17, and dd8 we usually bring 4 large rolling suitcases, 4 carry ons, and 2 backpacks. But like I said we bring quite a bit back with us. :rotfl2: You should be okay especially is you're shipping diapers but just keep in mind what you might be bringing back with you.

And I expect we will wear our winter coats on the plane and pack a fleece and other hoodie for everyone.

My daughter is staying in a room with my parents so maybe I will pack her separately in another rolling suitcase. And pack a duffel bag for overflow from purchases.

To confess, I'm a chronic over-packer :guilty: because we are flying I'm trying to set some reasonable limits.

I had a (very) large bag for 'myself', in it I packed all our toiletries, anything extra really and then my clothes and shoes/kids shoes). DH had a checked bag with his clothes and shoes. We packed all of our daughter's clothes in two carry on size rolling luggage (we checked it though, they had smaller bags with stuff for them to do that we took as their carry ons).

I would add to carry on a change of clothes for each adult. nothing is worse than a spill or accident getting on adult and with young kids that will happen. the rule in our house a change in carry on for everyone in group on the plane

That sounds reasonable. Share a large rolling between you and your husband, then have the 3 children share one.

It's a great idea to ship things like diapers down; we also shipped some essentials to our resort and it worked out great (shipped from Walmart).

We could easily do that. We are light packers. We travel a lot and have gotten really good. Kids clothes are little and take up little room. We will re-wear jeans and hoodies and we will only take one nicer outfit for signature dining and wear it more than once. We dress very simply in the park. We wear tennis shoes and will pack only one other pair that can get wet. Big heavy coats are not really great for the parks and hopefully not needed into February MOST of the time. If you can leave them in the car at the airport that might be a good idea. A duffel bag in case you need it on the way back is a great idea. Not sure if you have to pay for baggage but what we have done recently is to purchase each of us a bag that is as big as we can use as carry on and pack each person in their own carry on. We can do a week that way and we like having each person's clothes in their own bag. I agree to have at least a shirt for each adult in carry on. Been there......done that!!!!
