How much are you spending?

I would guess $10-20 per day as an average, counting alcoholic drinks at dinner.

I know we'll be paying for our meals at Crystal Palace and Akershus OOP. Other then that, probably about $20 - 30 a day for drinks.

For our trip last September, we spent about $80 or so at the grocery store for breakfast items, snacks, water, and other beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Other than that, the only other money we spent on food was when we went to Margaritaville over at Citywalk. I didn't buy a single food item in WDW. Well, I bought some candy to bring home, but that doesn't count.

We'll probably just be spending on alcohol because we'll be on the DDP when we go in June. So $20-$30 a day on drinks, we like to indulge on nice wines and I'm sure I'll be having a glow-tini where ever I can!

I forgot to add in my previous post that we did indulge in some alcoholic refreshments from time to time, but it probably amounted to about $40 per person (there were four of us) for the whole trip. That margarita in the WS was especially yummy!

Ok.. so I assume everyone normaly skips breakfast or eats breakfast from their room things they bought at the store. Then use the counter service for lunch.. and the table service for dinner?

That's right. We would either eat breakfast in our room (a muffin, a cereal bar, juice, milk, fruit) and then have a CS lunch and TS dinner or we would have a CS breakfast, a snack at midday, and then a TS dinner. It worked out pretty well. Incidentally, a lot of people use their snack credits for breakfast, buying muffins, donuts, or pastries.

That's what we do. I "collect" those free cereal samples to eat for breakfast. Eat early CS lunch. Have a snack around mid-day and a late dinner. At least that's the plan for the august trip.

DH and I will be enjoying many tasty beverages this trip. We plan on utilizing the mugs since we'll be at Pop. I'm planning on an extra $50 a day total just in case.

What we usually do is use our snack credit for something at the BW bakery or MK bakery. Use our CS for lunch, most of the time we don't have room for the dessert and since it is pre-packaged, I throw it in my backpack or soft pack cooler and then use our TS for dinner. If we want snacks later, we just have the pre-packaged desserts that we have saved.

On our last trip, we didn't spend any extra money. We are not alcoholic beverage drinkers and we brought our own water/soda, so we were pretty much set.

We just pay out of pocket for breakfast usually CS @ resort then use the credits thru out the day for a lunch and a sit down dinner. Adding snacks if we feel like it.
I'm one of those people that LOVES a nice breakfast before heading out for the day. :coffee:
I think the DDP is amazing and I especially like that I do not think about "budgeting" each day.
Last year with free dining we saved receipts and I believe the 6 days bills were about 1200.00 for the three of us. We NEVER would have spent/budgeted for that much and for that reason, I'd pay for the DDP if it wasn't offered to us for free  ! I guess we spent about $25 a day for some extra's (drinks)

So much YUMMY food and So many choices!
Have a wonderful time.

We'll be paying out of pocket for one meal ($50 - 60ish) and alcoholic drinks. Hubby will likely get a beer or cocktail most nights and I'll get one or two over our stay. We may also pay a bit for a few extra snacks. Overall I would say an additional $10-20 a day or about $120-150 overall.

This May will be our 6th DDP trip (lots of other trips with the old Food and Fun pkg) We generally spend 0 OOP in addition. We don't drink, so that could be part of it. We will have Dr. Pepper in the Cabins though :)

Very little. I don't drink, but dh may want a drink once on the trip. I'm sure 20.00 will cover us for any extras we want for the week. We plan to either skip bf, because we usually don't have any anyway, but I will bring some nutrigrains or bagels just in case.

We do the same thing. I have a quick breakfast every day at home(bagel, roll, muffin...) We love to have a nice hot breakfast each day while on vacation.

I pay OOP for food court breakfast and use the CS credits for dinner or lunch.

I'll also pay OOP for extra snacks and water. I'm planning to $25.00 each day for extra food.

DD and I are the only ones who really eat breakfast, I take medication that I need to eat something with, so we would go to the food court each morning and get 2 pieces of wheat bread and some peanut butter and have peanut butter toast every morning. It was .69 plus tax for each of us every day.

We used the snack credits for a box of donuts that the guys ate if they wanted something.

Other than a few random drinks during the day, I don't think we spent more than $25 after the cost of our resort mugs for the whole week. We would use our mugs when we had meals in the food court and just get extra bottles of water as our counter service drink to take with us.

With the DDP how much more additional cost are you spending on food per day on average? Tiffany :)

Other than for liquor, additional tips, and a few grocery items that I am hoping to get delivered if I can find a store that delivers, I predict we'll spend an additional $200 OOP. Even though we have 11 days and only 10 days worth of DDP credits, I still think we'll have some leftover. DD10 counts as an adult and will most likely share with DS5 or DD8 or both. My kids are so used to sharing and I hate to throw food away (hence my hips ;)) and I don't see our habits changing because the food is free.

Wow.. I was thinking it would be closer to $50 more per day. I guess it can be done.. this is great to here!! ;) Thanks!

:thumbsup2 I really think it can be done for less than $50 a day. We won't drink at every TS meal but at about half. Snack credits can be used for milk, doughnuts, and stuff like that.

I would guess about 30 dollars a day tops for us. We may have a drink with our meal that would be extra and we may buy an extra snack like water, etc. in the parks. Gotta love the dining plan. We save up disney dollars so we just spend them instead of cash anyways...
