How much are the pins?

Everyone is talking about the pins and lanyards. How much, on average, do they run? Realistically, how much should we budget for these, given my kids ages of 10, 8, and 3?

The ones we bought ranged from $6.95 per pin to one that cost $10.95. We have 2 dds ages 4 and 8 and they picked one each day and DH surprised them with a few more. Yes, expensive! But it was really the only souveniers they wanted. It was addicting! Beware!!

We brought lanyards with us and purchased a few pins for about $6 at the Disney store before we went. The pins we bought for our DDs 2and 5 were mostly $6.99. They have a starter kit with a lanyard and 4 pins for around$25. They also had sets for about $21 for 4 pins. it was like getting one pin free. Have fun.

If you buy them from Disney the cheapest ones are about $6.50-ish i think. And they run upwards to $25 (for jumbo pins).
Or if you buy the starter sets they consist of a lanyard and several pins. Depending on the set it could run about $5~6/pin in that set.

If you still have time, you could try to hit ebay, disney deals or buy off of pin collectors from dizpins.com for cheaper pins and starter sets.

Also, if you use Magical Express they give you a coupon for a lanyard and a pin. Or if you buy AAA package they also give you a lanyard and a pin (I think).

Ok I know disney use to have this as part of there package deal, but you said if you use ME they give you a coupon for one?

If they would be interested in trading for pins, rather than just buying them outright to collect - and if you aren't going for at least another week - I was very happy with my recent purchase from MousePinsOnline. I think they carry mostly (if not only) ProPins, which are smaller than a lot of the other Disney pins, but are totally tradeable in the parks. Their standard price is $3 per pin, but if you go to their web site and click on the "June Special" tab at the top, you'll find a very interesting story of an experiment they did with pin trading recently - along with their special June offer.

All of their pins from 101 Dalmations, Oliver & Company, and Jungle Book are only $1.75 each. The S/H is $3.85 by priority mail for up to 1# (approx. 50-55 pins). I think these are particularly good for children, because the pins are smaller and lighter weight, so would be more comfortable to wear on a lanyard. I bought duplicates and triplicates of some designs - knowing that my granddaughter and I would be trading most of them anyway. My purchase was shipped by Priority Mail the day after I ordered, and I received it two days later. I encourage you to check them out. We also ordered from mousepinsonline and my kids were very happy knowing they won't fall over from the weight!! The pins I purchased from disneydirect were huge!! I would definately recommend mousepinsonline! Very quick shipping and friendly people!! The June special is the best deal you can find anywhere. They are perfect for trading!

Thanks so much!!! Was planning to buy a few for them to bring with them (was going to use the water bottle straps as their lanyands, thus increasing the likelihood that they'll keep their water with them and drinking it!) and also wanted to buy a few for them to trade while they're in the park (this, by the way, is a great way to keep them busy in line, I hear!) I also planned that they'd want to buy a few in the park. The ebay stuff I've been looking at was so expensive, I'll check out the other resources!

watch for lots on e-bay where it breaks down to about $3 a pin!

I like to buy multiple pins from the same buyer. You need to be online when the auctions end, but there's a lot of buyers who end their auctions one right after another. By doing this, you get to choose your pins and save on shipping. If you'd like to know who I use, you can PM me.

Thank you to whomever suggested MOusepins online. We went in April and payed about $6 or $& per pin. I just placed an order on Friday to mousepins and just recieved an email stating that my order had been shipped and here is the tracking number. I would suggest ordering a bunch to trade because your kids will enjoy doing it.

Don't be surprised by the size when you get them. They're smaller than any other Disney pins that I've seen (but then I'm kinda new to collecting/trading). In spite of that, I think the detail and coloring on them is quite good - and they are definitely tradeable with the CMs. Like I posted earlier, I am very happy with my dealings with MousePinsOnline - (and I have not been compensated for this "testimonial").
