How much are DCL robes onboard in the gift shop?

I thought I remembered that they were pretty pricey but I just looked the the things you can pre-order for your cruise and they have a Romance Pacakge that includes 2 DCL robes for only $125.

Just off the Magic on 7/10 and they do not carry the robes in the gift shop. I know this for a fact as we purchased the romance package for DH and I (mainly for the robes! - they are great) only to have our teenage son come down with a severe case of "robe envy". Alas, no robes were available in the gift shops. Poor kid, he has a tough life!

I guess it's possible they may be available on other ships??? But if you want a robe, I'd suggest ordering one of their packages. And, heck, you get champagne and chocolate for the sail away along with the robe - what's not to love?

Were the robes you got with the romance package the nice terry style soft ones, or were they the waffle weave ones? I'd love to order some but I hate the waffle weave ones and fluffy is a must!

They were the terry cloth style, not the waffle weave they have at the spa, thank goodness. They were very nice, though a pain to pack when coming home. I used a compression sack that I had packed my jeans in coming to Copenhagen. But then, of course, I couldn't use it for jeans going home. So plan for space in your suitcase for two robes.

We received this package as a gift on a previous cruise and I was very pleased with the quality of the robes. They are very soft and fluffy and fairly generous in size. They are definitely not the waffle type robe. They come rolled up and packaged in plastic with a DCL bow. If you leave them this way they are easier to pack to take home.

There are two types of robes, as far as I know. The ones in the package are not lined. The ones for sale in the gift shop are lined and cost $120. The lined ones are in the concierge rooms for use during the cruise.

Does anyone have a picture of the robe from the romance package? I see it online, but it's such a tiny picture I can't really tell what it looks like. Thanks!

When we were on the Fantasy in October we saw the robes in the gift shop but remember they were pricey. But they were really thick and soft. I am wondering if they are the same exact robes you can buy in the gift shops or a cheaper version.

Oh that's a very good point! I'm planning on ordering the Romance for Two package soon but didn't think about how I'd get the robes home ;-) I figure once we drink all the booze we're bringing on board that should free up some space for at least one robe. Hrm.....better rethink our luggage plans!

Excellent advice - we don't need to wear them on the cruise, so might as well keep them rolled up for easier packing! When we get home, unroll, put on and relive our cruise
