I'm thinking of getting an iPhone and I know there are alot of free apps out there but for the ones that are not free - what is the average cost? Also, I assume they are a one time fee.

We are heading to Disney in February and I really want some Disney apps.

Thanks,
Linda

I think the most expensive app I have was $5. Most were a couple of dollars, or free.

If I had an iPhone (instead of the Touch, which I do have), I'd definitely buy the e-ticket app (http://www.eticketapp.com/), which is the DIS for your iPhone. You have access to the boards, the reviews, gps locator while in the parks & much more. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than your average app, but if I recall correctly it's got lifetime upgrades included.

U can get apps free... to as much and more than a 100 dollars...it all depends what it is. The most I have ever spend on an app was 5.99 that was for the eticket disney app. There are several free disney apps and several that are no more than 2 dollars.
It is a one time fee on the apps... I love my IPHONE! I wouldnt trade it for anything!
U should be able to go into itunes and search apps u would want and see the costs of them. might help u some!

e ticket is no longer available due to a programming error, also if you already own it ( I don't so not sure) I am not sure it works any longer.

follow the link in my signature for free apps and I also have listed many pay for Disney apps.

I was unaware of this! I have it and it still works... what now? I paid for an app that is programming issues. Where do I find info on this?

While most apps are a 1 time fee, some have a recurring fee. I have the BNONews (Breaking News) app that has a $1.99 monthly fee. The app itself was $1.99.

Well, that's partially true. According to http://www.eticketapp.com/support/, it looks like they've pulled the app from the store temporarily while they work on a permanent date fix, but I saw someone posting to the podcast board from it this morning, so part of the app is still working.

E Ticket still works. Much of the app is working perfectly. It is great to be able to post to the DIS from the iphone app.

Much of the app is working perfectly. They have fixed the problem with the app and are waiting for approval from Apple before they put it back on iTunes. Once it is back on iTunes I am sure there will be an update. You will be fine. You can go the the ETicket website or on the Podcast board here on the DIS for more information.

Woah, you can do this?!? :lovestruc Thanks! I must be the last person to have realized this. I need to get this app soon!

from another thread here on the DIS

Hey Folks -

Sorry for all the confusion so I will try and clear some of it up.

-eTicket had a bug that activated January 1.
-We pulled the app from the STORE ONLY while we fixed this, so existing copies will keeping working as normal -The only park of eTicket affected is the ability to select dates (itinerary setup, DVC calculator, hotel and flight info) - everything else continues to work including the map, browse, park hours, and DISboards -The app will be fully for sale again either this week or next -We're not abandoning the app or tech support or our current users

Understandably, users that downloaded the app in the last few days of 2009 are going to have a very poor first impression of the app because from their perspective "it doesn't work". Those that have had it for awhile know that it did work fine previous to 2010. We disabled the app and hid all the DISboards ads for it because we specifically don't want anybody to have a bad first experience. A few inevitably will and we'll have to handle that the best we can under the circumstances.

So again I apologize for the bug and the confusion/anger surrounding it and ask for your patience and understanding while we work to set everything right again. Trust me...it wasn't a pleasant New Years Day waking up to discover the app blew up.

Thanks to all that replied. I also just found out that WW has an app for the iPhone also and as I am planning on joining later this week I think I will definately have to purchase one.
