Going the first week in december with the DW, DS, DD, and MIL. 7 Days. Getting the 6 P-H-Plus. All Start Movies. Car Rental.

In other words, I have already spent enough money and I haven't even gotten there yet. =o).

After looking on E-Bay, I have seen many auctions for the meal vouchers. However I cannot get a feel for the spot where normal food prices end, and where the advertising begins.

How much, on average, am I going to spend at lunch for a Child, or an Adult inside the reosrt.

How much, on average, am I going to spend at dinner for a Child, or an Adult.

What is the maximum I should spend on these meal voucheres for it to be worth my while.................

Thanks in Advance

Didn't see the post an hour earlier. Went up stairs to have lunch, then posted. Someone beat me to it. :D

We will be @ the World at the same time. We will be at BWV from 11/29 to 12/06.

For complete menues including prices for at parks and resorts go to the following link:

http://wdwig.com/menu/menus.htm

(I always hold my breath that the link will work ;)

This is what we are do:

BREAKFAST in the room

Okay, I know what your thinking, "your staying in a villa, easy for you".
But when we have stayed in a regular room you can make this work.
My family, Self, DH, DD10 and DS5, are not big breakfast eaters. They just want to hit the parks.
In the past I have hit a superWalmart before heading to the hotel.
I buy a foam cooler for under 5 dollars. Cheap and can be thrown away after stay or pass it along to some good fellow thats checking in. Fill it with milk, orange juice, fresh fruit & yogert (hubbies fav). I also get mini donuts, cereal bars, ect. I let the kids eat while we get ready in the morning. I also let them eat as much as the want. "Fill up those bellies, kids!" The down side to the cooler is the daily ice change , put we have gotten pretty good at it (ice is free, if you hadent heard ;o). This alone can save alot of money. Usually we do one breakfast to see minnie or cindy or someone during our stay.

LUNCH
Can I say enough about vouchers, lets see........
Call lillian Vernon 1-800-545-5426 and ask to sign up for connections. The first month is free, 8.95 there after, but I just usually cancel after I have bought my vouchers. They will give you all the info on connections, the place you buy the vouchers. DO NOT buy off of Ebay!!!!!! ITS HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!! They are, I believe, 11.25 a piece. We have saved a ton of money on these. Some people say no, but we have done quite well. Another thing is they are paid for and if you got them, your less likely to say" hey, lets try ------", any than blow your budget. Vouchers can be used at the following locations. With each voucher you can order your
choice of one of the following: one combo meal (entree, side dish
and beverage) and one dessert, OR one entree, one side dish (if not
included in the entree), one dessert and one non-alcoholic beverage
Tax and gratuity (if any) are included. Alcoholic beverages, frozen
drinks and souvenir drink mugs are not included. Please keep in mind that we have used one voucher between 2 adults and sometimes we will use one on the kids and have them split if they are in the mood for something more than chicken fingers.

The menu's at www.wdwig.com are wonderful and will give you an idea.

Say you get a 1/4 burger in the MK for lunch at Peco's Bills:

John Henry Cheeseburger - 1/4 pound cheeseburger served with your choice of french fries or carrots $5.59; add bacon $.79

and you'll want a Coke to go with it:

Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Minute Maid Orange, Nestea Iced tea, Barqs Root Beer- $1.99, $2.29

add tax.

There are some good bargain meals. Cosmic Rays serves a Rotisserie Chicken many people here swear by:

Family Meal serving 3-4 people Whole Rotisserie Chicken with Mashed Potatoes $15.99

And this sandwich is big enough to feed two (unless they are big eaters):

Big Dipper Stacked Sandwich - sliced turkey, salami, turkey ham, provolone cheese, lettuce & tomato $6.79

Now what you will actually spend? Depends on what and where you eat. If you are happy with water that you tote in (or tap water that Disney will give you), you'll spend less than if you guzzle pop at $2.50 a bottle all day long. If your kids need to stop for every Mickey Bar vendor, popcorn cart, Mickey sucker they see (and eat half of it before throwing it the trash), you'll spend much more than if you limit your snacking. If you eat breakfast in your room (pop tarts and cereal bars packed from home), a snack, a big late lunch, a snack, and then have microwave popcorn when you get back to the All Stars, you'll spend less than if you find breakfast in the food court, lunch, a snack, and dinner. I know people have managed on little tiny food budgets, and I know others have spent more than $100 a person on a meal.

I haven't done the vouchers, as we tend to eat for under the full cost of the voucher anyway and aren't going to the places where they are really good deals. Nor do we take budget vacations - it isn't worth the bother of ordering the vouchers to save $50 on the cost of the vacation to us - if we could save that much. Do some research and decide if they are worth it for you. Some people swear by them. Others buy them and don't use them. Some people really like them for the pre-pay budgeting aspect and don't care if they actually save more than a few dollars. And some people buy them to give to their kids when their kids are off on their own (less risky than giving the kids cash or charging privledges on the roomkey).

We stayed at ASMo on our first stay and we frequently went to the food court.

It's up to you on how much you want to spend. My DH wanted to enjoy his vacation and had brought plenty of $$ to spend on food and any extra goodies. But we rarely spend a lot of money. The food portions are so big that my sister and I shared a lot of food. Not because we wanted to save money but they really do give you a lot of food.

You can order a double cheese burger and an extra bun and share your fries. So you get a burger and your wife or child gets the extra bun and patty. OR they have great cheese steaks, big enough to share. I believe on average you get the burger or sandwich with fries for about $5.95. You can purchase the refillable mug for $9.95 and use it whenever you want!! I didn't care about eating junk food, fatty or greasy food because we were on vacation. My kids enjoyed eating the burgers and pizza at the food court. When you hit the parks-there are so many choices. Most places didn't mind that you shared food!!Don't get me wrong you can find a good healthy meal at the sit down restaraunts. We plan on trying Trails End this trip.

You shouldn't worry about it and go with the flow!! You are at Disney!!! Good luck on your planning.
