How much allowance?

Lately I've been thinking that I should give my child a raise in allowance. I'm wondering what is a common amount for a 9 year old to receive per week. Any thoughts?

My six year old get $6/week. One is a Disney dollar she has to save for next year. One is $1 she has to save. The other $4 she may spend as she chooses.

My four year old gets $4/week. Her deal is the same as above - One Disney dollar to save, $1 to save and two to spend.

I plan to give them each a $1 raise on their birthdays so their allowances will equal their ages but they will be required to save at least two dollars a week. They each have a few chores associated with their allowances (although my four year old doesn't really get the concept quite yet). We have only been doing this for three weeks, so we shall see how it goes...

I do the 1.00 per year of age thing so my 7 year old gets 7.00 a week, most of which she hoards and then deposits into her bank account.

We also do the $1 per age a week, but half of their allowance has to go into their bank accounts, which they cannot touch until they are 21.

1$ per year is what I did too, until age 11. At that point (middle school age) he was given 20$ per week with the option of making his own school lunch. He had the option to pocket all 20$, and fix his lunch, or use the $ to pay for it. Usually he buys his lunch, which to this day makes me wonder about him.
