Ok, hubby and girls are off fishing without me because our house was such a mess and dirty. I told him just go without me, I have to get the house done, and it will be easier with you guys gone out of my way.

The Laundry is piled high and other sections of the house, well, I am to embarrass to even mention how bad it is, but the rest of the house is bad. During the summer, we are going so much trying to do work and play, that you leave one water bottle out, and it just goes down here from there. We are all guilty, not just the kids.

So I’m taking a breather, and was thinking, am I the only one who lets the house get so out of control, that the next shower someone takes they will have to dry off with the decorative towels hanging in the bathroom? :laundy: That your beautiful kitchen counter tops can't even be seen because they are piled up so high with stuff?

I admit, these past ? days I have just not wanted to do anything! I'm like, Oh I will do it tomorrow, and the next thing you know, WOW, what happend a bomb exploded! No, the maid took off, and mom let the family get out of control! :rotfl:

You are not alone, and let me tell you how good it feels to know that! ;)

I can't wait to win the lottery, because I am HIRING a maid!

Apparently your family and mine are living in the same house and it's piled so high with stuff, that we've never actually seen each other. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You are definitely not alone. There just aren't enough hours in the day for me to get everything done and not spend every hour working.

pretty darn bad...like I feel like I need to have my shots updated before entering! well....maybe not that bad. You are not alone!!!!

nope you are not alone. Some days I pray nobody comes to the door because I am so ashamed at what a mess my house is.

It gets crazy around here during the summer also. The kids are here 24/7 and I clean up at the end of the day every day. I feel like I'm getting nowhere. It doesn't help that I have 7 other people (mainly kids) in a 12oo sq ft home. I try to have fun with the kids and make memories for them because that's what life's all about. When you're gone your kids aren't going to remember how often laundry was done, but what you did with them. OT I've had 2 children die (18 & 26) in the last 3 years. There are so many "I wish I would haves" that I can never get back. Do things with your kids :lovestruc

It is just dh and I, but I do have a cleaniing lady. :goodvibes

:bitelip: People stop!!!!! Can't even stand to hear about any of this. :crazy2: I'm a "cleaning freak" and if don't have anything to clean in my own house, I'm crazy enough to start in on yours! It's a horrible sickness to be afflicted with...sometimes wear myself out and the thing is, nobody even cares how clean or dirty my house is. No one but me that is. :sad2:

Dh does the laundry, for the most part around here. Pretty much when the hampers get full, they get done. I do any stain treating, so when the basket of stained clothes is full, it gets done. The kids and dh keep their clothes put away nicely..........I don't. My closet is a complete mess, and there is a corner of my bedroom stacked with folded things and things to be hung laying on top..........doesn't look too neat. My bedside table is piled with books, my dresser piled with the kids' school and Sunday school papers.

DSs clean their rooms every night, so they are nice and neat. The playroom is a disaster, so I am going through and getting rid of at least half their toys so that they will only have toys in their rooms (thus cleaned nightly).

The hall holds our shoes, and they get jumbled pretty quickly, so it doesn't look so nice.

The dining room right now has piles of things I am taking to school next time I go.........when it's not that it's piled with other things. It gets unpiled about once a month.

The kitchen is cleaned daily, but the bar is where lots of daily things get dumped.........mail, keys, etc.

The living room coffee tables and floor tend to get littered with toys, cards and books from youngest DS.........It gets taken back upstairs every couple of days.

Here and there discarded clothes and towels get left by youngest DS. Those get picked up after bedtime.

So, mostly the messes are my room and closet, the playroom (you can't even walk in there right now) and the jumble of shoes in the hall/ piles in the dining room.

We moved into our house a month ago. How long do you think I can use that as an excuse for things being disorganized?!! Our house doesn't really get dirty mainly because I can't stand that but chaos is another thing. Half the battle is getting DD to keep her things in her room not in every room of the house  . The other half is containing DH's packrat-itis :rotfl: .

My house is clean enough to be healthy, and messy enough to be happy! :thumbsup2

If you were just a few miles closer! :teeth:

One of the best afternoons I spent in recent memory was when my MIL allowed me to tear into her house. She's a *world class* pack rat and I'd been begging her for years to let me at some of that clutter. She's been sick and the overflow and mess finally got to her and she agreed to let me do whatever I wanted. Now her house looks amazing and she was all smiles when I finished.

Weird thing is, I get a real "high" when I do this type thing. Maybe a psychologist would say it's my way of bringing "order" into my life? :confused3 Who knows, I just know it's a compulsion and I feel fabulous during and after I clean. Yep, a real freak! ::yes::

:::pushing angela out of the way to make friends with ilovepcot:::
hey there, i have a hot tub you can soak in when you're done making yourself feel better! :rotfl:

but seriously, my house can get downright NASTY  between my daughter and I the hair is out of control, add in the cat hair and the dust bunnies suddenly start taking over! we finally caved in and have hired a cleaning lady twice a month, when she leaves it's like being in heaven! :cloud9:

The problem around here isn't dirt -- it's clutter. Everyone throws their things on the dining room table and doesn't take them off. DS's toys and sports stuff is all over the house. I am so tired of asking the guys to clean it up! I've even threatened to throw everything out b/c I'm tired of it!!!!

If you were to come over now, not one item on the dining room or living room tables belongs to me, nor does anything scattered about on the floor. I may have some things on the stairs, but they go up when I go up.

Otherwise, I manage to dust and sweep around their things. Thankfully, we have hardwoods and I can take care of them properly.
