How many $$$ worth of medical insurance?

thanks for info on this site re where to buy travel insurnace but how much medical cover should i get?( in $$) all the worldwide policy seem to offer a lot but the amount does vary.
Any suggestions?

Which? magazine recommends at least $2Million worth of medical cover.

I would chose the policy that offered the most medical insurance - also check the details of repatriation and 24hr help lines etc.

The first time we went in 1992, it was recommended that one have £2,000,000 worth. Our policy now has £10,000,000.

Yes go for the one with the most heaven forbid you should have to use it but it is very expensive out there. I had a bad back one time i was there i couldn't walk very far i went for treatment at the walk in centre on i drive and it cost me nearly $200 for half an hour con sult a jab and tablets I don't know what was in the jab but it worked wonders!!!!
