How many WDW vets currently have a trip planned to Disneyland?

I've only been to WDW 3 times but that's the only Disney park I've been to so I guess that makes me a vet. I'll be taking my first trip to DLR next month. This had nothing to do with the FP+ system. I'd love to go back this year but I also wanted the crowds at the HP expansion to fade at least a little so I've been planning a 2015 trip since last year. And so I'm heading to CA to experience something new while waiting to go back to FL.

Guess I fall into this bucket. Been to the World several times and I'm taking my first trip to DL in August. Looking forward to seeing the original. I see so many first timers awed by the experience. Hoping to feel just a little of that. :)

I am a WDW vet making my first trip out to DL this October. It is very different not being able to make reservations until 60 days out. I keep changing my mind and changing plans in my head I just want to make it final. :) I am really excited!!!

We are going to DL on the 20th!
Lots of trips to WDW and I have been to DL 3 times in the past, but last visit was 20 years ago.
DD first visit to DL :lovestruc

We can not wait.
Has nothing to do with WDW at all. The opportunity presented itself and we are doing 4 days there.:cool1:

Been to WDW 5 times. First time w/ fam to Disneyland in 17 days!!!

[happy ferret dance]

Was in WDW in Jan a few months ago when it froze... Brrrrr...

NOT a fan of the magicband. Ugh. Could never get it to touch right. very frustrating, :(

Yes, GatorChris, you're the one who mentioned it on laughinplace199's thread about feeling overwhelmed planning a DL trip. It made me wonder how many of us actually were planning one.

We're not going for a year, but I'm anxious to get our hotel ressies taken care of and it seems like we aren't even able to book that far in advance. It will be strange for me to wait so close to our trip (60 days) to book restaurants too. But I'm trying to get used to the more relaxed feel.

After reading all the positive input from WDWers who have gone to DL and fallen in love with it, I'm super excited about our first trip too. :yay:

Yeah, it's weird making the switch. 2 months out for dining? That makes me nervous.

I do miss WDW - for me, it's the superior resort by far. I love the great resorts they have. The Disney hotels at Anaheim just don't have that massive and grand feel. Amazing what lots of land can do to the resort.

Not to complicate your life, but it isn't as if Priority Seatings (what WDW calls ADRs) get booked solid at the 60-day mark, either. You can usually change them until right up until the very day, except during the busiest times of year. And even then, you probably have wiggle room until a week or two out, and probably closer than that. Mostly because locals, who make up the majority of visitors, tend to eat sit-down meals outside the parks, making it easier for everyone else. :)

We are WDW vets taking our first family visit to DL in February! :cool1:

We used FP+ on our WDW trip earlier this year, and it was fine, so that's not our reason for switching things up. Just decided to do something different!

We are planning our first DL vacation for this Nov. It was partially chosen because my cousin was living in Brea at the time (but now will be moving back before we get out there!) I thought about going back to WDW instead, but I'll be honest I really didn't want to deal with magicbands and all that, so it seemed like a good time to try DL. I'm interested to see how it compares!

We're planning our third trip and other than character breakfasts which I booked a few weeks before our trips without any issues, I've never made a meal reservation for any of our trips and we never had any problems finding places to eat. We don't do TS but CS are everywhere and delicious. It must feel strange when you're used to having to have everything reserved but honestly, you can go without a single reservation and have plenty of food options.

You'll have a great time!

We are going in April 2015!! I've only been to Disneyland once and that was twenty years ago! Can't wait!! The airfare was surprisingly cheaper to LAX than to Orlando so we decided to check it out. My boys are excited for Cars Land too!! My heart definitely belongs to WDW so I'm eager to see how DL compares (I hardly remember my one and only DL trip).

We're going in March. After our trip to DL last year, I have little desire to go back to WDW, even though I miss EPCOT and AK. The idea of FP+, etc. is not appealing!!

Been going to WDW since 1975. Took our first trip in January to DL, Really enjoyed it. Way better than I expected it. We enjoy the parks, also thought DTD was real nice. Enjoyed CarsLand a lot, thought Toon Town was great for the kids. Lines we not bad compared to WDW, also liked how easy it was to get into the restaurants. Did not have reservations and hardly had to wait long to get into the character breakfast or the other restaurants. Thought there was many more rides for the real young kids. We are going back with our grandchildren this November. :cool1:
