How many WDW vets currently have a trip planned to Disneyland?

Hey, is that a shoutout to me? Of course, after reading most of these responses....it looks like I was pretty much wrong about it being due to FP+. :confused3 Still, it's the main reason we just bought Annual Passes to DL. That added to the Boy Scout mess, and the fact WDW didn't offer free dining at a Moderate that holds 5 people. It was the perfect storm to stay in CA for the next year.:)

Yes, GatorChris, you're the one who mentioned it on laughinplace199's thread about feeling overwhelmed planning a DL trip. It made me wonder how many of us actually were planning one.

We're not going for a year, but I'm anxious to get our hotel ressies taken care of and it seems like we aren't even able to book that far in advance. It will be strange for me to wait so close to our trip (60 days) to book restaurants too. But I'm trying to get used to the more relaxed feel.

After reading all the positive input from WDWers who have gone to DL and fallen in love with it, I'm super excited about our first trip too. :yay:

I'm an equal opportunity Disney fan. We usually go to both parks every year because we live 6 hours from DLR and visit my in-laws in Cape Canaveral each year. I love both places for very different reasons, but as I'm planning out our January 2015 trip, I'm not looking forward to FP+. I don't like planning my rides like that, I don't like being tied to my phone in the parks, and my in laws are going to hate it. :sad2:

One more WDW family headed to DL here! Ours also has nothing to do with all the FP+ and construction. We've been wanting to head out west since the opening of Carsland, and this just happens to be the year we're doing it!

I grew up in CA, but haven't been to DL for almost 40 years. Can't wait to see what I remember and all that is new AND to introduce MY family to the park that started my Disney love.

Updated Park Rankings

1a Disneyland Resort
1b Universal Orlando Resort(new attractions and continuous added attractions being planned and built rapidly)
3 Epic Mickey 1 & 2(actually very very fun and immersive!)

I can no longer recommend Disneyworld even to diehards until the ride capacity and park hours change.

Previous
1 Disneyland Resort
2 Universal Orlando Resort
Distant 3 was Disneyworld due primarily to wasted time of 4 parks being spread out too far: transportation and poor use of real estate

We have visited WDW and DLR pretty evenly.
We have DLR coming up and am glad I haven't had to worry about FP+, however waiting for the calendar is driving me nuts! I am making dining reservations before the park hours are even out!

I have WDW skills but I don't know if I'm a vet. We will be on the west coast shortly. Like others its not because of FP+ or all the changes going on at WDW, it was mostly the heat,DCA and San Diego that sent us west. We will be back to WDW December 2015.

First trip to DL in just over a month ... WDW vets who really enjoyed MBs and FP+ last October (during Canadian Thanksgiving/Columbus Day weekend no less).

Have been wanting to visit DL for a while, especially since Carsland opened. :)

Hoping to get to DL Paris next year (post DCL Iceland/Norway) ... And trying to figure out when our next WDW trip will fit in!

We're making our first DLR trip in October. FP+ wasn't a motivator for us (I'm actually looking forward to trying it out eventually). We'd been doing WDW every other year for a while, but after our last trip we decided to save up a little longer so we could fly out west and see Walt's park already. We timed it with Gay Days Anaheim, which is great since we can never afford WDW at the time of year when Gay Days Orlando happens. Then the need for me to go to LA for work popped up and that sweetened the deal. Can't wait to stay at DLH, see WOC, ride RSR and experience the Halloween overlays at DL. :thumbsup2

I'll be back at Disneyland next week. Can't wait to be in the park on it's birthday. I know I'll also be there next July for the 60th. Last year we went to Disneyland near the same time, and I went to WDW a month later. Going to both so close together is so much fun. I've done it several times.

This year I'm thinking about returning to WDW during the holidays. Haven't been there during that season since 2000. But for now, my focus is on Disneyland.

After many trips to WDW, we're checking out Disneyland for the first time this November!!! Hoping it will be a bit more low key and less commando than WDW! :thumbsup2

We have been to WDW 6 times since 2003. Our last visit was in May 2013.

We are going to DL in Dec. and staying at the PPH. This is our first visit for my 50th birthday in Dec. We are looking forward to the trip.

I am worried about the FP+ at WDW but we will go to WDW in Dec.2015 for my dd's 16th birthday.

I'm a WDW regular and I'm heading back to DL in August. It's got nothing to do with FP+ though. I have a skating competition in Burbank and just had to throw in a couple days at DL. I'm already in Florida so getting back out to DL is a rare treat. (One that's starting to happen more often. Lol)

I went to WDW in June last year and then we went to DLR in August. It was great doing both so close together!!!!

I will be there for DL's 59th birthday too! This will be my 5th trip to DLR!

I prefer DLR over WDW by far!

Only 4 more days!!!

I was recently at DL. There is something about being where Walt stood.

Enjoy your upcoming trips. You are going to love it!

Regular to both....so not sure if I count ;)
Magic Bands and Fast Pass+ have been just fine for me so far.......have done a week and a 2 week trip using them. 2 more trips to go this year and then we switch to DLR next year for 3 trips.

We'll be at DLR is April, Oct. and Dec. 2015.
It is the park I grew up with, so very special place for me and DH

We have made 8 trips to WDW since 2005. The last trip was Magic Bands. It was more of a challenge to plan but we still had a blast. We adapted to the changes just fine.

Going to DLR has been in our plans for a long time. I am very excited to see Walt's park. Many people here(NC) don't understand why we are flying across the country when we can drive to Florida for WDW. They don't realize that DLR and WDW are not the same exact same parks.

We are looking forward to our trip so much !!

I currently have a DL trip planned, but it's not because of any of the stuff going on at WDW. In fact, it's likely that I will return to WDW before my planned DL trip. I really like both resorts, but DL's a little harder to get to, but this trip is because I'm going to LA anyway, so I'm tacking it on.

My next goal is to get to an overseas DL, probably Tokyo.

We went to DL in 2013 and plan to go in 2015. I am holding off on WDW until this whole FP+ situation settles down to something I can manage. Besides, there is something special about DLR.

We've been to WDW 14+ times so far since 1999 and I did the CP there last Fall. We're going back in December.

BUT my mom, a friend, and I are taking a trip to DL for the Avengers Half Marathon in November. This will be our first time at DL ever so we're completely clueless. Thinking we might just jump in without a lot of planning and enjoy ourselves. :)
