How many vacation days do you have?

Dh is retired so he can go anywhere, anytime (but only after the housework is done). lol

I have 4 weeks vacation a year and can roll over any that I do not use for the next year. Usually end up rolling over 1 week a year. I also get a "volunteer" and a "personal" day a year. I also have the option of taking 5-12 weeks off a year and having my pay lowered over the following year to compensate for this. I work all of my hours Monday to Thursday so have every Friday off.(This really saves on my vacation days having 3 day weekends every week). And of course, all of the stat holidays.

I get 15 days sick time which I hardly use and can roll over. I also get 5 days family related leave that I lose if I don't use. I don't usually use this because DH is home anyways if the girls are sick.

I like having off of the vacation time available as we cannot afford to go to Florida every year but when we do go, we plan on staying 2 or 3 weeks.

We are now our own bosses...

We run a motel and chalet business that has me here at work 7 days a week from 12 to 15 hours a day ALL SUMMER LONG!!! Last year I did 103 days in a row like that but it has the perks of allowing us to take a lot of holidays.

We did 3 weeks in Florida in Feb for our honeymoon, 3 weeks in December because we are hooked on WDW, and 1 1/2 weeks in Ottawa in October. We also take a few weekend trips here and there.

I'm working 7 days a weeks right now because we are open for tournaments and such on the weekends and reservations for the summer started coming in early.

Need a vacation. I'm trying to go see wenabre in Ottawa but can't seem to see a good week to go...Still looking.

I love my job...Thank God I don't work for the Devil (Loblaws) anymore...

We are self employed too. Last year I just figured out my DH took 54 vacation days. He says two of those trips or 25 days were to keep an eye on our older kids at Whisler and then at Banff. Poor baby!

He says this year we gotta work!

The only one pouting is me. I am so much more productive when I've had a vacation.

I am a stay at home mom but My husband gets 3 weeks that he has to take during the plant shut down in the summer. Because he is the millwright (mechanic) he has to work one of those week so we can take one more anytime we want. they also allow him to take as many more times that he wants. BUT they only pay him for the 3 weeks holidays. and they pay him in July and then when he works he gets overtime for the time worked during the shut down. so when he takes his 3rd week he does not get paid. (may any sense.. lol)
This is why we are flying, if we drove we would lose his pay for an extra week and it works out better for us to fly and be gone for 1 week instead of 2 and drive.

DH gets 4 weeks plus an extra 2 or 3 "floater" days, and this is my first year for 5 weeks :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc , plus I get 4 personal days per year (these run on a different "calendar year" than the vacation does), and one extra "floater" day. I know that I'm very fortunate with the amount of time off, and for the most part, I can use vacation days if one of the kids are sick, and my boss is quite OK with that. We don't have a set amount of sick days, but I do get paid if I'm sick ... this is all dependant on your number of years with the company, etc.

Because we have become AP junkies who like to get 3 trips on one pass, we've had to work our WDW vacations so that they occur over 2 vacation years! Oh the planning skills required to be a Dis-freak!
