How many kids under 3 yrs can stay in a standard room? I have my sister's SIL who wants me to help her plan a trip to WDW around Easter 2008. There are 7 in the family, oldest is 6, then 4, then 2 and twins that will turn 1 next month, plus mom & dad. She wants to know where they should stay. I need to do some more research and guests per room before I make recommendations. I was thinking Ft. Wilderness cabins, but it's a bit of a chore getting around when staying there. I suggested they bring another adult with them, but they really don't want to. I'm kind of concerned about how they are going to get on and off rides with that many little ones. I don't want to discourage them from going though! The mom is really excited about it! I did suggest they stay away from the actual week of Easter, so they are going to go a week earlier or later than Easter week. We're going to look at the touring plans crowd calendar before making reservations. Thank you.

One. Each additional Guest under three counts toward the maximum room capacity. Check out the All Star Music Family Suites. Each holds six Guests, plus one under three in a Pack & Play; plus, they have a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee maker. And they're only a few dollars more per night than two individual Value rooms, and much less than the Fort Wilderness cabins; and transportation from the Value resorts is easier than from FW.

She'll definitely need to look at rooms that accomodate 6. How many pack & plays would she be planning on having in the room? That would be my other concern. The cabins have a lot of space in the living room, probably more than enough to hold 3 cribs. The only question mark would be the bedding for the 6 and 4 year old. In the bedroom, there is a bunk bed. I don't remember exactly what they look like, but I think they had safety rails all around. The bedding in the value suite may be better for the older children, but I'm not sure if the floor space would allow for that many pack & plays.

I think the Family Suites at All Star Music would be a good choice also.'

All Star Music is my favorite Disney owned hotel.

Please see my info thread For the resons why I enjoy All Star Music so much.

Here is a little info if you concidering 2 rooms or a Family Suite at All Star Music:

Just an FYI

For comparison, the price of a Family Suite is $9-11 more then 2 Standard Rooms, or $13-15 less the 2 Preferred Rooms, depending on season.

Also a fridge is included in AS Suite.

Fridges cost $10 a night to rent when staying at a value . Don't forget the Queen size bed,a coffee pot and microwave are also in Family Suites.

The Family Suites have been included in the discounts later so keep your eyes open for a good discount.

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

Keep in mind that for Easter the week before (March 17-23) is usually busier and more crowded than the week after Easter (March 23-29). With such little kids they should definitely stay from Easter -- two hour lines are not fun! What about renting points from a DVC member?

tell them to stay away from Easter!!! With kids that young, I would suggest fall. Maybe late Oct or early Nov. I would let the older kid(s) miss school, and go when the crowds and heat are less. If they went the 1st or 2nd week of Dec, they could see all the christmas decorations, and the kids could see the different santas from around the world. That would be fun!!! As far as where to stay, I would either stay at a value suite, or in a condo offsite. I know alot of people will only stay onsite, but we have stayed offsite many times, and the extra space and savings of a condo, (or home for that matter), can be a lifesaver! They can fix b-fast in the room, eat at places outside of disney(a real money saver), and have tons of room to spread out. And we stayed in a 2br at Cypress Point Resort for $96.00/ nite, and it took us 5 minutes to drive to the parks. We had a longer commute from POFQ using disney busses. And yes, we took mid-day breaks for swimming at the condo, and went back to the parks later in the day w/o any problems. So, it can be done... easily. I hope they have a great trip, but tell them it will be a MUCH better trip if they change their dates. Even if they go a week off from the traditional Easter dates, it will still be pretty crowded. If they are set on going in the spring, I would suggest the 1st week in March. We have been then and the crowds we low, and it was warm, but not hot. Good Luck!!:wizard:

You can forget about renting a reservation from a DVC member for that time. They probably are all sold out or nearly so. And you are still hitting Spring Break times.

They could get two rooms at a value resort and that would give them space for 8 plus one. They could add Grandma and Grandpa.
