Can you still get reception of a few local channels even if you don't get a preferred site?

we get good reception of the local channels with our batwing and the amplifier on. not sure exactly how many.

The only thing we miss in a std site is the Weather channel. There are several good local channels that have regular weather updates though. I would not pay extra for a preffered site based solely on having the cable TV. Some say that the preffered sites are more convenient, others like us would rather have a std site.
Most of the time it comes down to what Disney has available, IMHO there really are no "bad" sites at FW, some I like more than others but all things being equal.... a bad site at FW is better than being at home !

bigdisneydaddy...I see you're from Fenton. Are you familiar with Oscoda? It's a bit north of Fenton. My husband and I were stationed at Wurtsmith AFB in the late 80's when he was flying B-52s.

We have been by the base a couple of times, not recently though. My wife had a friend that was from Mikado and we went up there twice to see them. My parents live North of Gladwin and we used to watch the aircraft refueling over their place. After they closed the base the area struggled economically, not sure how it is doing now.
I have a lot of respect for the military, they do an awesome job that is usually thankless. I thought they were great people even before it became fashionable after 9-11
