How many times have you had COVID?

Zero. Before all the testing and confirmation that it was out there my son and I came home from Disney with what we assumed was just the normal Disney yuck one gets there. I was on the couch for at least a week and breathing hurt. He is a Navy Corpsman/RT and at the time told me I had walking pneumonia. No way to confirm what we had other than the Disney yuck. I got one shot when they first came out, it almost killed me, I was literally laying in bed crying because everything thing on my body hurt for 2 days. I didn't get a booster. Hubby got the first shot and it just made his arm hurt a tad, he got the second shot. I haven't had a shot since then, have been to Disney 3 times a year since they reopened and have not had it.

Zero that I know of. I live a pretty solitary life so I don't get exposed to nearly as many germs as most people do. I guess that works in my favor when it comes to illnesses. I rarely get sick at all.

Zero times and I’m really praying it stays that way.

I never stopped working during COVID since I manage a doctors office, so I always expected to get it at some point, but nope.

DH had it this time last year, and I never got it.

My mom had it last summer, and I had her in the car with me as I took her places, and I never got it.

My doctor told me a few years ago that if you take Vitamin D, then your immune system fights off things better, and I’ve always taken vitamin D. Both my girls had Influenza A really bad and were by me, coughing around me, and one was in the hospital with it and I stayed the night with her, and I never got it. I’ve been really blessed with this.

Once... Just recently. Surprising because I started nursing at the very beginning and even spent time on a COVID unit. We went to Universal right after it reopened too. I didn't get it until I started my new position in the emergency department. In the last six months I've had COVID, the flu, norovirus, and viral pneumonia. It's like starting kindergarten. I'm working my way through the bugs.

As far as I know I haven't had it. I'm all vaxxed up, I've lost track of the number of shots--had one a couple of weeks ago.:)

3 officially. The 'first' time I had it I was *very* sick, I'm talking lay on the floor to rest sick. The hospitals in my area were overwhelmed and I was told to stay home if I could and ride it out. By the second time I had it I had been vaccinated so it was very mild, just minor cold-like symptoms, and the third time I was asymptomatic and only tested because someone in my household had tested positive.

I said 'officially' because in February of 2020 I came down with *something.* I remember it well because my uncle had died and I was just starting to feel unwell at his funeral, which was on the 10th. I went to the doctor and he said it was some kind of respiratory virus and he prescribed a prescription cough syrup so I could get some rest at night. I was sick for nearly a month, and I fully believe it was early Covid. BY the time I felt well again we were in that initial two week quarantine.

I have been vaccinated so much by now I think I glow in the dark.

Two that I know of... first time I would not have really known but my stepdaugther tested positive, then I did too. Had I not tested i would have not really known I had it until I lost my sense of smell for about a week. The second time, I was quite surprised to test positive, but work MADE me get tested. I had like a bit of a runny nose, and I was quite surprised that I had covid.

Twice. Our youngest ds is a nurse in the hospital and he lives with us but always tries to be careful. He was part of a study once at the hospital because they couldn’t believe he got it so soon again after getting over it once.

3 times, I think: June 2022 (self-test was negative, but I think user error on my part got a bad result), Feb 2023 at the end of a cruise (positive self-test) and last September while walking the Camino in Spain (didn't test, but felt like when I had it before and took precautions assuming I had it).

Confirmed 0, 1 probable. Of the four in my immediate family only my younger son has had a confirmed case. We all had the initial set of vaccinations, my wife and younger son have had a booster, myself and my older son have not. Even though it's claimed to have not been here then, we were at WDW in December of '19 and when my wife got home she ended up getting sick with something that was an awful lot like COVID.

4 or 5, lost count

Do you wear a mask around your co-workers and patients when you get it?

Zero.
I've had every vaccine/booster available and I'm O+ blood type which some researchers seem to think helps.

I wear a mask anytime I'm in a crowded situation, def on public transportation, airports, etc.

I'm currently sitting in a nursing home with a loved one and I know there have been cases here in the past couple of weeks. I'm masked and have hand sanitizer. Hope it's enough

Thank you for wearing a mask in the nursing home because it will also help everyone else there as well.

I have never had it. I get the vaccine and test when I’m sick.

That's the key to answering this question. I wonder, when people says 0, is it because they just never test when they are sick?

I've had it once. June 2022. We had taken a road trip to Disneyland. The night before our last park day, my husband starting feeling a bit off. So the morning of what would have been our last day, he tested....positive. So we packed up and headed home a day early. It was a 3 day drive. I tested positive on the last day before the drive home. I was able to take Paxlovid so my case was very mild. My husband's was moderate (no Paxlovid.)

I test every time I get any kind of respiratory illness (which, unfortunately, is often due to being immunocompromised.) I thought for sure I caught it at WDW in January this year because the symptoms were similar. But all tests were negative.

I wear a mask in public spaces still. And especially at the airport, on the airplane, and on vacations.

Twice. DH got it 2 years ago in WDW but we did not catch it. A few months later I got it from someone at work and passed it on to the rest of my family :( Luckily that was a mild case for all.

Did he wear a mask on the flight?
No he didn't, but he said he's learned his lesson and will from now on. We've seen people randomly wearing masks-in Walmart the other day for example.
This was the first time he called the doctor and took Paxlovid. Twenty four hours later and he feels remarkably better already.

Once....I got it on a cruise last year. The loss of taste and smell was terrifying.

Fortunate to be able to work from home if not too sick, or use sick time if unable to work.

3. All of them were after being on vacation. Either Disney/ Universal and most recently DCL. Apparently, if I go to FL on vacation I’m coming home with Covid. On our last trip, we were at Jollywood nights and a little girl was clearly very sick. Her aunt was fanning her as her mother held her and she was coughing all over the place while in line for Toy Story Mania. We ended up leaving the line.

Out of the 3 times, no one else in my family got it. Most recently, we came back from the cruise and headed to Universal for the Orlando Informer event. I was EXHAUSTED and couldn’t stay awake. I snuggled with each kid for at least a few hours. I figured I was just tired from doing Disney and then the cruise. Once we got home 2 days later I actually got sick.
